Sleep paralysis is a terrifying experience that affects millions of people worldwide. When it happens, the individual awakens from sleep and finds himself paralyzed with a tremendous weight bearing down on his body. The experience varies from one individual to the next, with some people seeing figures, others seeing shadows, but always unable to move or speak.

My personal bout with sleep paralysis has spanned a period of forty-seven years, beginning when I was five. I remember it happening almost every night while watching T.V. with my family. It happened so often, I didn’t think much of it until I overheard my father discussing the subject with one of his friends. He referred to it as a witch riding his back and said he slept with a bible under his pillow to prevent the paralysis from occurring. I was too young to remember whether I tried his suggestion back then, but I did when I was much older and it didn’t work.

During my teen years, my experience with sleep paralysis took a turn for the worse and I started seeing things. I’d wake up and find a shadow standing over me and I’d take off running. I had an attic bedroom, so I’d dash down the stairs in the dark, falling most of the way, startling my brothers and sisters who’d hear me coming and often beat me to the front door.

One of my most frightening sleep paralysis experiences happened during my junior year in high school. I was sleeping in the middle of the day and woke up paralyzed. A strong wind began blowing through my room, tossing the curtains around when a disfigured face with horns started floating toward me from the ceiling. I tried calling my mother, but my tongue was frozen stiff inside my mouth and I couldn’t speak. All I was able to do was let out an incoherent groan. Suddenly I began speaking The Lord’s Prayer in my mind. The weird thing about this is that I didn’t even know The Lord’s Prayer. As I repeated it, the face backed away, until it was gone. When I was finally able to move, I thought about what happened and was tempted to write it off as a dream, but I didn’t. It was real, and I wouldn’t let my mind convince me to believe otherwise.

By the time I turned twenty-two, I was involved with a lot of new age practices which I believe opened me up to more intense episodes of sleep paralysis. I was also attending a new age church and thought I had a strong relationship with Jesus, but I quickly learned how mistaken I was.

One afternoon, I was bored and was forcing myself to go to sleep. When I finally dozed off I heard something walk in and begin tugging at my ankles. An adventurous young man not wanting to blow an opportunity to interact with a higher spiritual being, I slid down as he obviously wanted. As soon as I did, he separated me from my body. He then hopped on my back and began to assault me while digging his sharp claws deep into my neck. Paralyzed and unable to speak, I began shouting the name of Jesus in my mind, knowing what the bible said about demons fleeing when you call on his name. Instead of running away as I expected, he just mocked me in an impish little voice. This seriously scared me because I knew that if Jesus couldn’t save me from the powers of darkness, I was in some deep trouble.

The paralysis lasted for what seemed like an hour with me fighting, trying to get free, but the more I fought, the stronger he got. Finally I just stopped resisting. When I did, I slipped back inside my body and the attack was over.

The sleep attacks continued with me as a helpless victim until I got married in my early thirties. I married a born again Christian woman who had a strong prayer life, had formally accepted Jesus as her savior and had a strong relationship with God. In time, I became born again as well. The attempts against my body didn’t stop, however, but at least now I had a real relationship with Jesus and the demon knew it. Whenever I felt him moving in to attack, I’d call on the name and he’d back away.

Sometimes I’d wake up and find myself paralyzed, speak the name, and he’d have no choice but to leave. There have been many nights, however, when he’s challenged my faith, and I’ve had to hold my ground for hours. The shadow would go away and keep coming back. But I knew my relationship with Jesus gave me dominion over demons, and I kept asserting my authority until he knew that I knew he had no right to be messing with me.

I occasionally battle with sleep paralysis even today, but that’s to be expected when you live on the battlefield. The enemy is not going to just roll over and let me live victoriously. With the writing I’ve been called to do, I expect a fight, because I expose him as the fraud that he is. But as I face him day and night, I keep myself and my family covered with prayer. If I go to sleep without praying for God to protect me, it’s almost certain that I will have another incident of sleep paralysis. If I do pray, it’s almost certain that I will not. He still challenges me from time to time to see where my faith is, so I have to stay one step ahead of him, knowing that he’s always lurking, waiting for an opening to move on me and keep me from doing the work I was put here to do.

Demons don’t mess with anyone unless they consider them to be a potential threat to their rule of the earth. If you’re experiencing sleep paralysis or having any other demonic experiences, it’s because you have important work to do. I encourage you to develop a strong relationship with God and accept Jesus a your savior so you can exercise authority over the demons trying to wreck your life. You’re in a battle, so you might as well arm yourself in order to avoid the mental and physical pitfalls he’s trying to create all around you.

Here are seven things you can do to help prevent and overcome sleep paralysis:

1. Pray for protection before going to sleep.

2. Don’t go to bed angry. Settle any relationship issues before you close your eyes and read a bible verse, maybe one of the Psalms, to put your mind at ease.

3. If you’re not sleepy, don’t try to force yourself to go to sleep. You’ll find yourself lingering between states of consciousness and become more susceptible to attack.

4. When you’re dreaming, be careful of things or people wanting you to approach them. Demons need an invitation. They’ll change their appearance in a dream and entice you to come near. If something seems strange, has a hazy appearance, or there’s a stench in the air, those are all warning signs. Don’t ignore the red flags. The moment you approach the demon or allow him to lay hands on you the attack will begin and you may find yourself in another bout with sleep paralysis.

5. Horror movies, murder scenes, negative or harmful thoughts, wearing demonic costumes, listening to violent song lyrics all lower our spiritual vibration and open the door for demons to come in. Once in, they’re hard to get rid of. Feed your spirit positive things and they won’t be able to attack you while you sleep as if they own you.

6. Demons are spiritual beings. They can’t attack your physical body. What they attack during sleep paralysis is your astral body, that part of you that separates while you sleep and travels through the spirit realm providing the experiences we often refer to as dreams. This is why we are so quick to write sleep paralysis off as a dream. It’s real, and the sooner we come to grips with that, the better off we’ll be. So my sixth point for preventing and overcoming sleep paralysis is “Take It Seriously.”

7. When sleep paralysis occurs, don’t resist. It’s natural to try and break free when you’re scared out of your mind, but demons feed on fear and aggression. It only makes them stronger and the weight bearing down on you heavier because these emotions drag you further into a realm where they rule. Remain calm, control your fear and you should slip back inside your body.

In closing, please remember this. Demons affect our thoughts, mood and physical health. When we allow them to have the kind of dominion over us that they exercise during sleep paralysis, there’s no way we can accomplish what God has appointed us to do. We’re at war and it’s time for us to realize that. We need to deal with these sleep attacks and take back control of our body temple.

There are specific quotes in the Bible that target emotional health and well being and this should come as no surprise as this Book does cover, in my opinion the whole range of humanity, including depression and its symptoms. As a source of a help for depression, like perhaps any religious book, it could work wonders for dealing with depression-of course when used wisely.

These symptoms of depression, which consequently make us seek help, include feeling alone, having low-self esteem, a negative outlook on life and even in some more adverse cases, suicidal thoughts. Thankfully, there is a God who cares and His assistance in regards to a successful depression treatment remains unmatched. The key is you have to approach the methods the RIGHT WAY.

Most of us turn to prayer in seeking depression help, however as I’ve stated in previous articles, to get the answers you seek for your problems (which actually may lie within, by the way) will require a clear mind. This perhaps can come only from a cleaner body. Since fasting is advocated in several faiths, perhaps this is why most people in the Bible (or even the Quran) fasted before, during and after seeking God’s help.

Remember drugless remedies have three limbs: Diet, exercise and Positive thinking. I’ve covered the diet and exercise part, let’s deal with positive thoughts for depression help.

To strengthen your thoughts and emotional health with the Bible (obviously I am Christian folks, but I am sure any religious book will work), I refer you to what I label as thought conditioners that you can use for depression help in conjunction to the proper diet and exercises touched on in other articles.

Depression Help: Biblical Quotes for Positive Affirmations

1. Romans 12 verse 2: “Be ye Transformed by the renewing of your thoughts”
2. Nahum 1 verse 7: “The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble and He remembers those that trust in Him”
3. Isaiah 41 verse 10: “Fear not for I am with you, don’t be dismayed for I am your God,
I will help you and make you strong and uphold you with my victorious Right Hand”
4. Hebrews 13 verse 5: “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
5. Psalm 23 verse 4: Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
6. 1 Corinthians 10:13: “No temptation (problem) has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted (tested) beyond what you are able, but with the temptation (problem) will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”

Okay, I have to stop friends, why? Because there are TONS of verses you can draw spiritual strength and help for depression from. They are best personalized to make them work effectively as depression help tools for your situation.

You may choose to repeat them upon awakening or right before going to sleep to enable the thoughts to seek into your subconscious. Moreover, borrowing from my previous article on using Yoga for depression help, why not try affirming some of these words mentally in the wonderful and exhilarating corpse pose.

Remember though, as powerful as these verses are, to derive the best results, ensure to include the other limbs of drug-free healing being exercise and diet in regards to a successful depression help program.

So empower yourself today to a successful help for depression with biblical quotes and the right positive attitude.

May happiness be yours.

There is an antithesis between Christian maturity and worldly wisdom. That means that they are mutually exclusive. They are opposed to one another. What serves to increase Christian maturity undermines worldly wisdom, and what serves to increase worldly wisdom undermines Christian maturity. And it is this antithesis that Paul highlights in these chapters of First Corinthians. It is precisely because of this antithesis that Paul has “decided to know nothing among you (the Corinthians), except Jesus Christ, and him crucified” (1 Corinthians 2:2). Paul was not ignorant of Greek literature and philosophy. Rather, he didn’t want them to undermine the gospel by bringing in non-biblical ideas, even when those ideas might seem to the Greeks to support the gospel. He knew that they would not, that they would dilute and undermine it.

But he was not opposed to wisdom, “among the mature we do impart wisdom, although it is not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are doomed to pass away” (1 Corinthians 2:6). Rather, Paul imparted the “secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory” (1 Corinthians 2:7). Repeatedly, Paul says that God’s wisdom is not available to the ungodly. The Westminster Confession teaches that “the inward illumination of the Spirit of God (is) necessary for the saving understanding of such things as are revealed in the Word” (WCF 1:6). Paul taught that “no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual” (1 Corinthians 2:11-13).

There is a gulf between the godless and the godly that can only be bridged by Jesus Christ. It cannot be bridged by human wisdom or human effort. Christians can understand the godless because we were once godless ourselves, but the godless cannot understand Christianity unless and until they themselves are born again or become regenerate. “The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned” (1 Corinthians 2:4).

There is an important application of this concept related to church marketing and advertising that virtually no contemporary church marketer uses. Most contemporary church marketing programs are aimed at the godless. What I mean is that they use the language and aesthetics of the godless in order to appeal to the values or aesthetics of the godless. They try to make Christianity appear to be hip or cool or “in” or popular. They try to make it appear to be worldly by copying the latest marketing fads and techniques in order to make Christianity more appealing to the worldly minded. But Paul clearly teaches that the truth of Christianity cannot be known to the godless. It can only be discerned by the godly.

In contrast, the biblical use of marketing and advertising will not clothe Christianity in worldly garb, hoping to make it appeal to the worldly mind, but will show the truth of Christianity from a purely biblical perspective. Biblical Christianity does not need to appeal to the godless or look like the world. It doesn’t have to pretend to be cool or hip or “in” or popular. Such practice is not authentic Christianity. The purpose of evangelism is not to make Christianity look like the world. Rather, it is to make the world Christian. Godless people need to understand that they are not Christian, and that they cannot bring their godlessness into the church — not even in the name of Christianity.

There is a difference between the savable who are lost and the unsavable who are lost. We don’t know exactly who is savable and who isn’t, but God does. The Spirit of Christ speaks to the Spirit of Christ. The values of Christ resonate with the savable lost and draw them into the fold. The beauty of Christ reaches out to His lost sheep to guide them home.

We obscure the values and the beauty of Christ when we use worldly (godless) aesthetics and values in our outreach. We shoot ourselves in the foot when we try to appeal to heathen forms of popularity to communicate the gospel. Such efforts obscure the truth of the gospel and disturb the purity and peace of the church. The whole world needs to see the antithesis between Christianity and the world in order to perceive the necessity of conversion. To blur the antithesis between the world and Christianity is to blur the necessity of the new birth and conversion.

The church will grow in faith and in numbers when it is seen as a viable option to the ways of the world. It will grow by differentiating itself from the world, not by trying to integrate itself into the world, or by trying to grow on a foundation of worldliness. This is an important application of Paul’s central message of chapter two.

This is a new series of Verse No. in the Bible versus the Quran.

Verse No. 1 in the Old Testament talks about God created the heavens and the earth.

Verse No. 1 in the New Testament says that Jesus Christ is the son of David, the son of Abraham.

Verse No. 1 in the Noble Quran says: in the name of Allah, most gracious, most merciful.

———————-

Verse No. 1 in the Old Testament is Genesis 1:1

The verse talks about the beginning and The Creation of the World, it says: In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Verse No. 1 in the New Testament is Matthew 1:1

The verse talks about the Genealogy of Jesus Christ, it says:

The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

It should be emphasized that the genealogy of Jesus is not mentioned in the Old Testament but it is mentioned in the Noble Quran; the Quran mentions Jesus many times, in each time it says “Jesus the son of Mary”.  Nevertheless, Matthew 1:1 says that Jesus is the son of David, the son of Abraham.

Verse No. 1 in the Noble Quran is Chapter 1:1, Surah AL-FAATEHAH (THE KEY), 1:1

The verse talks about how the believers should start their deed, it says: in the name of Allah, most gracious, most merciful. Some translate the verse as in the name of Allah, the beneficent, the merciful or in the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.

This verse is like the logo of every Muslim.

The Muslim says it or recite it before he starts any act.

Before reading, before eating, before sleeping, before doing anything, he says: in the name of Allah, most gracious, most merciful.  He says that to have the bless from Allah before doing anything. That is why, the name of this Surah (Chapter 1) is the opening or the key.

It should be emphasized that the Arabs before Islam used to say: I begin doing so and so in the name of X idol.  Their idols were made of stones.  The Quran taught them not to say that by say: I begin to do my act in the name of Allah, the beneficent, the merciful who is the Creator!

New scientific high-technology recording devices are used to bring the Word of God to people who might not otherwise have any way of hearing God’s Word. The result of this scientific technology on the Word of God is the audio Bible. There are various formats in which you will find the audio Bible available, including a Bible on audio CD and audio Bible mp3 formats, as well as Internet distribution by podcast. This technology also brings another benefit: it is highly portable, requiring only a small digital sound system connected to a computer. This means that recording of the Bible can occur anywhere in the world. The result of this ease of mobility is that there can be recording centers where the audio Bible is recorded in hundreds of different indigenous languages. People worldwide, who might not have any other means for reading and understanding the Bible, can now be exposed to the power of God’s Word in an audio version, which they can hear.

Digital recording provides clear, crisp audio, and is a preferred method for capturing sound. The basics of how it works is that a speaker reads the Bible into a microphone, which produces an analog signal. Then this signal is sent from the microphone to an analog to digital converter. This component’s job is to convert the analog signal into a binary code. This code is then sent through a bundle of transmitters, usually wires connected to the computer in the form of cables, and eventually ends in storage on the computer, often on a hard drive or a CD burner.

The beauty of digital recording is that any mistakes can be taken out by simply removing the exact part of the code stored on the computer, which makes for much more precise editing and cleaner sound as a result. During the editing process, music and sound effects can also be added, and are, in order to produce a final audio Bible version that is dramatized, and more compelling to listen to. You can have speakers from anywhere in the world recording their part of the final version, then sending it via the Internet to the mixing center, where all of the parts are combined together and edited to result in the final version of the audio Bible. Speakers who come from oral cultures can relate to drama very well, and this is an important aspect of the recordings that make the audio Bible so influential.

Lasers are used in the recording and playback of CDs. The laser burns tiny holes onto the CD’s surface. This allows a CD or DVD player to distinguish between parts of the disc that allow reflected weak laser light to permeate through holes and parts of the CD surface that do not, resulting in a reading of the digital data and playback through a speaker so that you can hear it. These are some methods used for audio Bible production, to share God’s Word worldwide.

Christian marriages are to be different than the unbeliever’s marriage because a follower of Christ becomes sanctified (set apart) through the word for God’s purpose. (John 17:17) When a Christian obediently follows the principles of Christ it has a purifying affect on the heart and mind. Are you letting the word of God cleanse you and your marriage? This is how a Christian husband should love his wife?

A Christian Husband Should Have Self-Control

If a husband cannot keep himself from looking, touching, or bedding another woman other than his wife then he most likely is doing something wrong in his walk with Jesus. It seems that his relationship with God is faltering somewhere. The attitude of lust and desire outside the bounds of marriage always hurts everyone involved. Why put your self and family through such pain?

If a Christian husband is having difficulties with ridding himself of wrong desires then he needs to pray about it and ask that God help Him to turn away from immoral desires and to only have eyes for his wife. Scripture lets us know that only those people who truly belong to Jesus and who have denied self have given up the sinful nature with its passions and desires. (Galatians 5:24)

“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age. (Titus 2:11-12)

A Christian Husband Should be Considerate of His Wife

“Husbands in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives.” (1 Peter 3:7)

This means for a Christian husband to be understanding, caring and selfless, putting his wife’s well-being above his own. Understand that this is the way God wants a husband to love his wife. Scripture dictates that the only way a husband would be able to put his wife before himself is to have a right relationship with Jesus Christ.

Treat Her With Respect as the Weaker Partner (vessel)

And treat her with respect as the weaker partner and as heir with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers. (1 Peter 3:8)

“Weaker partner” does not mean moral or intellectual ability but physically weaker. As we all know women are more vulnerable to criminal and sexual abuse and a husband should be protecting her in that regard. In what ways can you protect your wife from these kinds of abuses? Husbands should respect the fact that their wives are physically weaker and protect them from all outside influences.

If your wife rebels against this protection then explain to her, with scripture in hand, that it is your Christian duty to protect her from mistreatment in the world. Let her know that this is one way in which you show your love for her. No woman in her right mind would resist such love and spiritual understanding.

In Ephesians 5:26 husbands are to wash their wives with the word, cleansing her and making her holy. Show your wife spiritual wisdom and discernment through your love for her. This is what being “head of the wife” means. The husband first must be a man of God before he can cleanse his wife with the word.

Continue to be wise in the Lord and wash your wife with the word, making her holy as Christ’s church. Christ’s death sanctified and cleanses the church and it is God’s word that cleanses us. (John 17:17)

“…So that nothing will hinder your prayers”. (1 Peter 3:8)

Have you ever wondered why your prayers never seem to get answered? Do you pray and pray and nothing changes? It could mean that you are hindering your prayers because your relationship is not right with God. If a husband is not considerate and respectful of his wife, perhaps his prayers will be hindered. I mean this is what scripture says, plain and simple.

In Matthew 5:23-24 it lets us know that if you have a problem with a fellow believer (spouse) that you are to resolve the problem BEFORE coming together in prayer. God is not going to resolve your problems with your wife for you. You need to resolve your problems with your wife first and then go to God with your prayers.

The bottom line is if a husband uses his headship position as a means to mistreat his wife, then his relationship with God will suffer and consequently his prayers will go unanswered. Our attitude towards others reflects our relationship with Christ.

Being a street minister for the gospel of Jesus Christ is not easy work.  In four or five hours of any one day I would meet a variety of people and I never knew what to expect from any one them.  Some were warm and welcoming to Christ’s gospel message, others were indifferent to it and still others were downright antagonistic to the message.

Even those who appeared to be the nicest people at the start would turn in a second to become the nastiest.  I tried to make no judgements on the latter (sometimes I failed) because I knew that many (not all) people in life have bitter memories of hurts and experiences under Christian ministers, priests, parents and the church in general.

I too had a religious upbringing and whilst nobody ever did me any physical harm, the church doctrines I was taught did me a lot of mental and spiritual harm.  When I began to read and study the Bible many years later I found out that those doctrines were perverted and twisted by religious men – the result of all that being that I had developed faulty concepts of God.

My problem was, I used to be scared of God, but because of what’s happened to many others they now have downright hatred for Him.  When I met someone who would share with me their concept of God, it was nice to be able to say to them that I hated that god too!  Those who allowed me to show them the true God as He reveals Himself to us in Jesus Christ through the Scriptures were then enabled to develop more accurate concepts of Him.

Most of the meetings with people on the streets are very brief.  One day I shared Christ with a young lady in her twenties.  Immediately she told me she believed in evil spirits.  She felt one crawling on the floor a couple of years earlier and told it to go away in the name of Jesus Christ and it did.  She then informed me that her Christian friend told her to do exactly that if she ever encountered one.  Naturally she was feeling pleased with herself because it confirmed her friends’ chat with her that Jesus Christ was real and very powerful.

So I mentioned to her that if she was to invite Christ into her life and allow Him be Saviour and Lord, then she would get to experience a lot more of Him, all of which would make for a very productive, creative life for her.  She was all smiles and thanked me very much, we shook hands and I never saw her again.

Standing at his letterbox at the gate was an old man who nodded and he stopped me for a chat, when it’s usually the other way round.  He told me his name, he said he was 86 years old and a world war two veteran.  He also informed me that he was an ex-prisoner of war in Singapore.  I had known that these men suffered most inhumanly under the Japanese so I asked him if he had ever experienced the reality of God during that time.  He said that he had not.

He said he’d never prayed himself but he watched the Catholic boys pray and, according to him, they never got any answers so they gave up and died.  He then said he was willing to be convinced that there was a God.  I asked him if he thought it was coincidence that we were speaking about such matters here and now or did he think that perhaps God was revealing Himself to him in this conversation.  He said he’d never thought of it like that before but would now go inside and do so.  He thanked me for talking with him.

I met a very talkative 75 year old visitor from England, an ex Army Colonel.  He was a very religious man, he spoke about his Church of England prayer books and hymnals, he said he was a regular church-goer and because he was staying just down the road from the Catholic church, he attended there rather than have to drive to the C of E, further away.   He had a lot to say about God, but he also asked me why I was doing this work, remarking that he’d not seen such for years even in his own country.

I simply shared with him a little of what my first personal encounter with the Lord had been, that He’d instantly physically healed me a couple of times, that He’d taken away my desire for swearing and drunkenness etc, and the Colonel was fascinated.  I told him that as a young person, I too used to go to church but never had I experienced the reality of God – for me it was just a religious duty.

I explained to him that a personal relationship with Jesus Christ makes all the difference, then shared the gospel with him and encouraged him trust in Christ’s promises as revealed in the Scriptures.  He genuinely thanked me for my time and told me He was very glad I called in to talk.

Some of the rudest and nastiest people I encounter in my  work are church-goers.  This the account of one of them.  One day I knocked on the door and an old lady answered.  She looked to be a gentle person with a smiling, welcoming expression on her face and I told her I was from the local church up the road.

The next moment a car pulled up outside her home.  The lady told me it was her daughter.  She looked to be in her 50′s as she came striding up the path and she asked me what the purpose of my visit was.  I explained her it was to pray for people and to share the gospel of Jesus Christ.  She told me she had her own church that she attends.

As I spoke on, I could see she was very irrate (that’s the reality and power of Christ) but was doing her best to cover that up.  I could also see that this message was setting her up for a bad day so I thanked them both for their time and then left.  Moments later as I was making my way to another home, a white panel van pulled along side – a police white panel van.

The policeman in the passenger seat beckoned me over and asked me what I was doing in the street so I told him.  He asked me for my name and address and some identification.  He looked to be satisfied with everything and was about to send me on my way, but I asked him if he’d mind turning their radio down, which he did.

I then said to both him and the driver that we’d all agree that the job they do is a very dangerous one and that police often die in the line of duty.  I asked, if that should happen to be them today, what would they tell Jesus Christ when they stood before Him.  The passenger policeman said that they’d be ok because that wasn’t going to happen.  Simultaneously, he turned the radio back up, wound the window up, the driver slipped it into gear, planted his foot on the accelerator and got away from there as quickly as he could!

The police (rightly so) asked me about my physical activity, God (I believe rightly so) used me to ask them about their spiritual activity.  That too was a demonstration of the reality and power of Jesus Christ.  Later on one of the pastors got a call from the daughter informing him that a very rude man from his church had called to her mother’s house and upset her mother.  “And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved……..”  Joel 2:32.

In two of the four New Testament gospels we read that Jesus is born of a virgin (Mary) who was conceived by the Holy Spirit. Matthew does not give us many details how this happened and just mentions the basic facts: “This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 1:18).

In Luke’s gospel many more details about the background of Mary, her encounter with an angel and her relationship with Joseph are revealed. Luke explicitly mentions that Mary was a virgin (Luke 1:34: “How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?”), that she was engaged to be married (Luke 1:27: “a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David.”) and that the child was not conceived by a man but by God through the Holy Spirit (Luke 1:35: “The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you.”).

That Jesus was to be born from a virgin through the Holy Spirit is with our 20/20 perfect hindsight completely understandable and considered a great miracle. Jesus can only be (the Son of) God if He was not just human. By having a divine Father and a human mother we can intuitively understand that He is both God and man at the same time.

And we now know that through the virgin birth the Old Testament prophecy of Isaiah 7:14: “Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.” was to the letter fulfilled. Not only because Mary was His virgin mother. Jesus’ divinity also explains the name “Immanuel,” which means “God with us.” Since Jesus is God, that part of Isaiah’s prophecy was literally fulfilled.

But how do we know that the virgin birth account was not just added to the gospels to embellish Jesus’ birth as fulfilled prophecy and a supernatural event? It is obviously not possible for us 2000 years after this event to study any medical or other scientific evidence to support this claim. However through logical analysis combined with our knowledge of life and the culture of those days the case for the virgin birth seems surprisingly strong.

Have you ever wondered why the miracle of the virgin birth of Jesus only received limited attention in the New Testament? Yes, both Matthew and Luke briefly mention it at the beginning of their gospels, but it is not brought up again by them or any of the other New Testament books as an evidence for the Divinity of Jesus anywhere. Actually the Bible is remarkably quiet about this. Why was this great and important miracle not mentioned again and again?

For us to understand this, we need to go back to the culture at the time of Jesus. In those days a girl’s greatest asset was considered to be her sexual purity. Only a young woman who retained her virginity could expect to secure a good man for a husband. Mothers kept their daughters out of the public eye as much as possible to not expose them to temptation. A pregnant unmarried woman was considered a grave insult to the honor of her family. As still seen today in many Arab countries (whose citizens still live under the Islamic laws and culture as it was in the ancient Middle East) such pregnancies would often lead to honor killings. The father and/or her brothers, lamenting her inability to marry, could kill her to avoid the disgrace.

Against this background Jesus’ virgin birth was not heralded as a miracle. Especially for Matthew, writing about Jesus’ birth must have presented a real dilemma. As a devout Jew, Matthew’s decision to record that Joseph, representing the royal bloodline of Jesus, was not Jesus’ natural father, could open up a potential flood of compromising criticisms that Jesus was born out of wedlock. This account in Matthew’s gospel shows his unconditional commitment to writing the truth without altering any of it.

Therefore the most logical conclusion is that the mere mentioning of the conception and birth of Jesus from a young woman who was not married and still a virgin IS the compelling evidence that it really happened. If the gospels were not factual, mere legends and embellished stories, the account of the virgin birth would not have been included.

Hear (or in this case, read) this statement:  If your child can use a library, he can learn to use his concordance. In my mind, it is absolutely essential to being a reader of God’s amazing Word!  Yet, the concordance, for many, remains unopened and unused.

But what is a concordance? I give my kids this simple definition: The concordance is a kind of dictionary that helps us find the “address” or reference of a Scripture by looking up the most prominent or important word of a verse.

Here are 3 terrific and fun ways you can use to help teach your children how to use a concordance.

1. Give your kids the following assignment: “Find 5 verses using the word (fill in the blank).”  Show them where their concordance is in their Bible and have them find the word you gave them.  For example, maybe you assigned them the word “hope”.  Have them look up “hope” in the concordance and show them how to quickly read the different snippets of verses there are on “hope” and have them write down 5 of the ones they like best after looking up each one in their Bible.

2. Play the “Concordance Game” – You will need at least 2 players for this game and each player must have their own concordance.  One child calls out a word that will most likely be found in the Bible, such as “peace”.  Say, “On your mark, get set, GO!” and the first one to find “peace” is the winner for that round.  Another way to play is to give the children a Bible verse without the reference.  For example, you might say, “For the joy of the Lord is our strength.”  After you say, “GO!” the children must decide what word is the most important in that verse and look it up in the concordance to try and find the “address” or reference to the verse first.  In this case, the word “joy” should end up leading them to Nehemiah 8:10.

3. Finally, share about your week and how you needed something like peace, trust or help with your finances.  Then show your children how you went to your concordance and looked up the word that best described your need and the verses that best ministered to what you were going through.  Your kids will be blessed to know that God wants to meet their needs by encouraging them through His Word.

Valentines Day, February 14th, is a fun day for both young and old! It is a day to think of those we love and celebrate friendship and kindness. It was one of my favorite winter holidays when the kids were younger as I loved all the hoopla of the parties in school, Scouts and Sunday School. It was a break from the winter doldrums! I loved going to the store to let them each pick out their own Valentines. Back then “computer printables” were not in the vocabulary, if you can believe it! We bought the old fashioned boxed cards that you tore apart on the perforated lines. They loved to pick out their own themes, be in Ninja Turtles, Super Heroes, Care Bears, or Cabbage Patch Kids. Yes, I am definitely dating myself as I think back on those years!  Then  we would take boxes and each one would  wrap and decorate their own individual mailboxes!  As Valentines began arriving from relatives; into the box they would go till Valentine’s Day!

In our home, we always added a component of giving to the day. We would bake and deliver home made cookies to elderly neighbors. We’d collect coins in a big decorated Valentine’s Day jug that we had decorated shortly after Christmas and have fun watching it grow. On Valentines Day we would count the coins and decide where we would donate the monies. One year it was the local volunteer Fire Dept as my son thought since the trucks were red and Santa always visited the town with the firemen each year, that they should receive the gift. We made presents for all the grandparents, which are still around today at Grandma and Grandpa’s house! We tried to make the kids focus on the ideas of loving and caring as well as the fun of receiving.

Over the years we have done different things to celebrate on the actual day but their all time favorite was the “Sweet Treat” special. From the time they got up, they could eat their meal in whatever order they wanted.  I put the meals out on the table from main course to desserts and they could eat it in whatever order they wanted! Probably the absolute worst idea ever and I would most likely be scolded by nutritionists and pediatricians alike, but they are all grown now and no worse for the wear and it continues to be one of their favorite Valentine’s Day memories!

As they got older, my husband and I began to have adult Valentine’s Day parties. Sometimes it was out to dinner with friends then back to our house for dessert. Other times it was a cocktail party or a desserts and drinks gathering.  We would always cap the night off with a fun game and I truly think that was the highlight of the party.  I have shared all our own Valentine party ideas including games for this party, as well as ideas for classroom, Scout or Sunday School Valentine celebrations at our family site Celebration Ideas Online.com. Enjoy the free printable Be Mine Bingo game there too.

In the church and in the Christian life there are many people that can quote the Bible. But there is a vast difference between quoting the Bible and living on top of the promises in the Bible. Every person can quote, but when you can live the Bible verse things are a lot easier in life and your life can face in surmountable obstacles and come through the other side. Today I am gong to share three of my favourite Bible quotes and a little about them.

The first one goes All things work together for good for those that love God and who are called according to His purposes

This one is very powerful to the Christian life if it is believed and applied to life and all it woes. It says essentially that all the bad that happens to you and all the bad things you do to God and others, all of this can be turned around by God to do good in your life. For the abused and the beaten and the rejected, life may not be good when you are in that situation, but when you are free of it you can be a wonderful light and a great person to help others who are suffering the same.

All the good that has happened to you and all the good you have done can also be used in your future to do more good for God and others if you allow God to mold you.

This verse has been a great comfort and if you can believe in it, it can be comfort to you in your difficult times.

The second Bible verse says, “Don’t despise the day of small beginnings.”

This is a verse that says don’t worry about starting small. Don’t get bitter that you are only doing things that are small in nature compared to other people doing he same thing. God says through his anointed person who wrote this that if you have started small you may have to be tested, and after the test of your patience and your faithfulness to the little task you be be given a bigger job to do. In four years of doing the little thing, I am just going to do a bigger thing and I am excited. I am glad that while things were hard that I clung to this promise

The third Bible verse is like the second. “Humble yourself under God’s mighty hand, and due time He will lift you up”

God does not like people that are full of themselves. God does not like proud people. God says plain and simple, be easy to get on with and be humble and work hard on what I give you to work on and when you pass my tests of time and trials in your life I will personally make you a bigger concern and exalt you before the people. In due time can be 30 years. God has His own timetable on things. In difficult times this can be comforting to know.

I hope that these verses that comfort me can comfort you in your hard times.

Why include discussion in a Bible study, small group, or Sunday School class? Why not just lecture, or watch a great preacher or teacher on DVD, then call it quits for the day?

Discussion is an essential part of every Bible study or teaching time for six important reasons:

1. Discussion keeps people attentive. It’s easy for listening to become a passive activity. If a class is composed of pure lecture (including DVDs or videos), people can tune out at any time. Discussion encourages people to listen actively because they don’t know when you might ask a question and request their input on the topic at hand.

2. Discussion lets people actively participate. People want to be involved. Discussion opens the floor to let people share their wisdom, talk about themselves and their experiences, and help others.

3. Discussion helps people make principles their own. By talking about a topic, discussion helps people make the movement from hearing facts (head knowledge), to understanding truth (heart knowledge).

4. Discussion brings additional insights. Teachers are not magically gifted with all knowledge. The participants in the group or class will often be able to add examples, insights, and encouragement that the teacher simply doesn’t possess. By giving people a chance to speak, leaders allow God to get across everything he might want to say.

5. Discussion keeps balance in the group. Sometimes people are tempted to put a teacher or leader on a pedestal as “the keeper of all knowledge.” Discussion helps level the playing field: by inviting discussion, leaders affirm that they are also students of the Word, and that each person can learn from everyone else.

6. Discussion fosters relationships among members. When people talk and share, they build bridges between one another. Especially in a small group setting, discussion is critical for developing true relationships with one another.

Children are a gift of God, no doubt. Children take things literally. In this article, you will read of two true stories that show we must exercise great care in how we share the Gospel with young children. And for adults, unless we come to Christ as a child, none of us will likewise see the Kingdom of God.

Once, when a parent I know had company come over, a young child of five came into the living room and told the lady who was visiting, that “Momma was right…you like to talk about yourself… a lot!”. Ouch! Oh well, out of the mouth of babes they say. Are children are brutally honest? No, I would say refreshingly honest. I am a Sunday School teacher of 3rd & 4th grade children and this is the age when many accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. This is a precious window of opportunity where many children come to accept Jesus and I know that this prime time of their lives is perhaps the best opportunity for me to tell the message of the Gospel. And this is a serious consideration for parents (and anyone for that matter) that they must watch carefully what they say around or to children.

One of my favorite verses is “And He called a little child to Himself and put him in the midst of the, and said, ‘Truly I say to you, unless you repent (change, turn about) and become like little children (trusting, lowly, loving, forgiving), you can never enter the kingdom of heaven (at all). Whoever will humble himself therefore and become like this little child (trusting, lowly, loving, forgiving) is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven ‘ ” (Matt. 18:2-4). The point is that there is more to sharing Christ with children that we think. In fact, I know of two story that installed in me to be very careful in the way in which we use words and what words we do use in sharing Jesus Christ.

One true story shocked me when I heard it and I will never forget it. A young child came to ask his mother how he can go to heaven. The child understood that his mother was already saved and that she was going to heaven some day, because she had already accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. The child also wanted to go to heaven, so he asked his mother how he could go to heaven someday too. The mother said that “You must let Jesus come into your heart to live, and He will be in your heart forever”. Moments later, the child went into the kitchen and when the mother heard the silverware drawer open, she was curious what the child was up to. She nearly fainted when she saw the young boy with a knife in his hand, pointed to his chest. She rushed to the boy and grabbed the knife and asked him, what are you doing with a knife!? The young boy said, I was going to make room for Jesus in my heart to let Him in. The boy thought he had to literally cut his heart open to allow Jesus’ room to come into it.

This story burned deep into my memory that the way in which we share the Gospel and ask children if they want to accept Jesus as their Savior must be in very specific, precise language. For the child, he was only doing what he thought he must do to make room for Jesus in his heart and thought, Jesus must find an opening to be able to get into it.

One touching story of another young boy which shows the trusting faith and love that is unconditional in children was when his older sister was going to die if she didn’t receive a blood transfusion. Her blood type was extremely rare. Not even her parents had the same blood type. But the boy did, so his father asked him if he could give his blood to his sister to save her life. The boy thought for just a few seconds…then, said yes. When the boy was lying down next to his sister and seeing his blood being removed to a machine that transferred it into his sisters bloodstream, he told his parents, “Will I see you in heaven?” The father said, “Yes, some day son.”. But the boy thought, “Pretty soon huh?” His father said, “Son you’re not going to die for a while. You’re still young”. The boy then said, “I thought you died when your blood is gone”. That father then realized that his son thought he was going to give her all of his blood so she could live, but he would have to die. Yes, said his father. Then my blood will be gone and I won’t have anymore. The parents both began to cry and hugged the boy, suddenly realizing their son was willing to die to ensure his sister would live. They told him that they would not take all of his blood, only some of it…and he wouldn’t die.

How precious is the unconditional love of children. They also have child-like faith and trust in obedience (no, not perfectly, but who does!?) to his parents, since the boys parents asked him and he only took a few moments to decide to, what he thought, was give his life for his sister. That love is close to Jesus’ unconditional love for us. He desires that all people saved and go to heaven and so that is why He died…for us.

My point is that we must come to Jesus in humble obedience, in trust, and have faith in Him. And the way in which we share the Gospel with children must not include physical, tangible activities that necessitate accepting Jesus as their Savior. It only takes faith and trust, child-like trust in the only One Who can save. It is letting the children come to Jesus and He does the saving. The child (and any adult) only has to accept the Lord and they will be saved (Acts 16:30-31). And the child should know that once they are saved, they can rest assured that Jesus will come for them someday (John 10:8-29). He never breaks His promise. They don’t have to do anything, but simply believe in Him…and they will be saved. I hope you will too. And come to Him as a little child would. In complete trust, faith and full assurance. That is my prayer for you. Here’s how:

HOW TO RECEIVE & KNOW YOU HAVE ETERNAL LIFE

I Admit – that I am a sinner and in need of a Savior (Rom 6:23)

I Abandon – self-effort and realize I can not be saved by my works or efforts (Acts 16:31)

I Accept freely Christ’s payment for my sins, required of the Father. (John 3:16)

I Acknowledge Jesus Christ as my personal lord and Savior (Acts 4:12)

If you have just received Jesus, you have now received God’s inheritance rights since you are now a son or daughter of His and can never be lost again & live forever (John 10:28-29). Now, join a Bible-believing church, or call 1-888-NeedHim (633-3446) for follow up questions about salvation that is only available through Jesus Christ.

The challenges faced by the Christians of today are many more than what they faced during the last Century. Christianity was very much prevalent in the United States in the last century and it was evident in the way that God was still the cornerstone of the government and the judicial establishment. In schools, prayers were offered at the beginning of a day and most people attended church religiously every Sunday. But later, through the years Christianity has seen a decline of faith and seems to be still falling.

Christianity began to decline from the publicly eye and God was being pushed out of people’s lives long before that. God began to be marketed for money and there are still many who continue to do just that, without the fear of consequences and Hell

As a Christian pastor or ministry leader you’re probably seeking new and innovative ways that you can reach more souls for Jesus Christ in the coming year.

The Internet presents the perfect opportunity to reach people from all over the world who need to know about Jesus and who need help for the issues that they face in life each day.

One easy way to reach out to this people is by converting your own sermons, Bible Studies and personal devotions into an ebook that can be read online from anywhere in the world.

Writing an ebook is easy to do and a great way to share your knowledge on a variety of topics, introduce your church or ministry to a wider audience or to grow your mailing list of people who want to hear more from you.

After you’ve created your ebook you need to get the word out about it so that people can read it. Here are some easy ways that to market your ebook on the Internet for absolutely nothing.

Traditionally, in the offline world, whenever a company or business needs to get the word out about their product launch, they use a press release to distribute to the media. You can do the same thing for your information product by going to a site like http://www.free-press-release.com/, where you can submit free press releases that online media outlets will be able to view and publish.

Make sure that your press release is newsworthy. For instance, if your ebook deals with a subject that is in the news then your ebook could actually be considered a solution to the problem and therefore newsworthy.

A second way to get free marketing for your information product is by adding your link at forums and guestbooks. This is a good way to generating more visitors to your website without paying for advertising.

A third powerful way to get free exposure for your Christian ebook is by submitting it to search engines and directories. We all know about the main secular search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN. There are also lots of Christian search engines and directories that you can use free of charge.

Still another powerful method to get free traffic to your information product is by creating a viral freebie that others can pass along over the Internet. You can write a short five-page report for your niche, fill it with hyperlinks back to your information product site, and set it loose with free distribution rights to it. Although you’re giving something away for nothing, chances are you’ll see many visitors flooding to your site if your freebie is able to piqu

The message suggests that bin Laden wants to show he remains in direct command of al Qaeda’s many branches around the world.

In the short recording carried by the Al-Jazeera Arabic news channel, bin Laden directly addressed President Barack Obama, saying the attack was a message similar to that of Sept. 11 and that more attacks against the U.S. would be forthcoming.

“The message delivered to you through the plane of the heroic warrior Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab was a confirmation of the previous messages sent by the heroes of the Sept. 11,” he said.

“America will never dream of security unless we will have it in reality in Palestine,” he added. “God willing, our raids on you will continue as long as your support for the Israelis continues.”

On Christmas Day, Nigerian national Abdulmutallab attempted to blow up the Northwest Airlines flight he was sitting on as it approached Detroit Metro Airport. But the bomb he was hiding in his underwear failed to explode.

He told federal agents shortly afterward that he had been trained and instructed in the plot by al Qaeda operatives in Yemen.

Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula originally took credit for the attack, but by issuing this message, bin Laden seems to be indicating that he himself is ordering attacks, rather than just putting his seal of approval on events afterward.

Analysts had previously suggested that al Qaeda’s offshoots in North Africa, the Arabian Peninsula and elsewhere were operating independently from bin Laden, who is believed to be somewhere in Afghanistan-Pakistan border region.

There was no way to confirm the voice was actually that of Bin Laden, but it resembled previous recordings attributed to him.

In the past year, bin Laden’s messages have concentrated heavily on the plight of the Palestinians in attempt to rally support across the region.

Many analysts believe that bin Laden is worried about Mr. Obama’s popularity across the Middle East – with his promises to withdraw from Iraq and personal background – so the al Qaeda leader is focusing on the close U.S.-Israeli relationship.

The suffering of the Palestinians, especially in the blockaded Gaza Strip where 1,400 died during an Israeli offensive there last year, angered many in the Arab world.

Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman, Andy David, dismissed the latest al Qaeda message and its attempt to link Israel with attacks on the U.S.

“This is nothing new, he has said this before. Terrorists always look for absurd excuses for their despicable deeds,” he said.

The last public message from bin Laden appears to have been on Sept. 26, when he demanded that European countries pull their troops out of Afghanistan. The order came in an audiotape that also warned of “retaliation” against nations that are allied with the United States in fighting the war.

Al Jazeera Transcript:

(As translated into English by an al-Jazeera translator)

“In the name of God the most passionate, the most merciful.

From Osama to Obama:

A peace be on those who follow the light of guidance.

If our messages to you could be carried by words, we wouldn’t have done that by planes.

The message I want to convey to you through the plane of the hero Umar al-Farouk re-affirms a previous message that the heroes of 9/11 convey to you and it was repeated frequently.

The message is that America will never dream of living in peace unless we live it in Palestine.

It is unfair that you enjoy a safe life while our brothers in Gaza suffer greatly.

Therefore, with God’s will, our attacks on you will continue as long as you continue to support Israel.

Peace be upon those who follow the light of guidance.”

As is usual at this juncture, there has been no independent authentication that the voice on the tape is actually that of Osama Bin Laden, who has not been seen in several years but whose voice has been heard in audio recordings.

This is perhaps the most often asked question heard in connection with the second coming, at least for Americans. It a reasonable question for any North American to ask, but it is far from easy to answer. I would be remiss if I were to say that the Bible expressly names America in any passage from Genesis to Revelation. That some passages may refer to America is very possible but not provable and that is the very kind of conjecture I will not entertain.

Naturally all the events surrounding the second coming of Christ are global or universal in nature so they necessarily include the United States. That the antichrist rules America for the same short period he rules the rest of the world is covered in Revelation 13:7. How he gets this powerful and fiercely independent nation to cow to his will is probably the more interesting question to try to answer.

Some people believe that America will be forced to comply with antichrist after an invasion of our shores by a great Eurasian pact of nations. Mostly, the invasion idea stems from the vision of George Washington. In that vision it is said that Washington told this story to his aide who in turn told it to someone else just before he died at about the time of the civil war. Washington was told that three great calamities would befall the nation. Starting with the revolutionary war, following that the civil war and finally some future war where America would be invaded. My learned opinion of this vision is, “who knows?”

That America would require force to he pushed into the rule of the antichrist is easy to believe but the force in question could be of a different nature. The remaining two views of how the United States is forced into the final pact of nations are probably more tenable.

The antichrist does not act alone but he is aided by one the scripture refers to as the false prophet. Rev. 16:13. 19:20. 20:10 We know little about who this person is today, hut what is known about him is that he doesn’t come from the same region, country and perhaps even the same hemisphere as the antichrist. The antichrist rises up from out of the sea according to Rev. 13:1.

The false prophet rises up out of the land. Rev. 13:1 1-16. The antichrist rules from the revived Roman Empire or The European Union. Where the false prophet is stationed exactly is not known but some think it will be America. This of course is speculative, even though it is very possible. The false prophet will probably not be connected to any religion, but it is most likely he will be a political figure or a minister of science. What he is may he uncertain, but the influence he wields over the world is not. He is able to produce signs in the heavens and draw fire down from heaven at will. Whether he does this supernaturally through the aide of the devil or engages some star wars type pyrotechnical display is also not known.

What is known is that his antics are very successful in persuading the people on earth to give antichrist both credence and rule. Some biblical scholars have thought that he could come from America and while this is not known for sure, it gives rise to the idea that America will he assuaged to join with antichrist by his direct influence. But again, while it is very possible, it is still only conjectural at this time.

A third and perhaps a far more likely scenario is that America will undergo a collapse of all of its markets and financial institutions. Following a collapse, a desperate nation may seek to join with antichrist’s emerging economic systems that will be so successful throughout much of the rest of the world at that time. Not long ago I asked some people the question, what do you think would be the most disastrous thing that could happen to America and what would change its nature significantly, an all out invasion of our shores or a complete and pervasive financial collapse? The majority answered that it obviously would be the collapse of our economy.

America is in the long stretch of the good times. We have many years between us and the dust bowl days and the stock market crash of twenty nine. World War Two is also far behind and the post war boom has become a post war glut. Any people that might decide to invade the shores of this powerful and fiercely proud nation would be in great peril. But take away what Americans really love, their affluence, money and material blessings and you could make them dance to just about any tune. This is the theorem that when applied to the question of how America joins the great evil new world order is the most believable, if not the most likely.

If the compunction to have more, drives a few to fraud, robbery and murder, then what will the lack of almost all consumer goods do to this nation? If history teaches us anything, the answer to this question is not a pretty one.

Christian debt relief is a great source for anyone faced with the stressful burden of unmanageable debt and who is looking for professional help. Christian debt relief companies are usually non-profit and are often non-denominational, offering assistance with debt for anyone who wants their help regardless of their specific religious beliefs. Their services typically include credit counseling, debt consolidation, debt elimination and debt settlement. With the many options available, individuals and families can find a program that will help them keep back on their feet financially and stay that way.

Credit counseling looks at the current debt situation, money available to pay it off and how best to do so. In addition to creating a specific plan for managing and paying off current obligations, they also provide money management help so excessive debt can be avoided in the future.

Debt consolidation replaces all the individual payments being made with one monthly payment instead. This can be accomplished in two ways, either through a new loan used to pay off existing debt or through a debt relief program. With a loan, all the debts are settled as soon as the loan money is available and then one payment is made to that new loan each month. Often this loan is at a lower interest rate than the rates the many smaller debts had. Another option is to work with Christian debt relief programs that create a repayment plan. With this service, a monthly payment is made to the company that then divides it among the outstanding debts according to a pre-arranged plan. Typically, creditors will call and work with the company, so the individual or family no longer has to handle collection and other frustrating calls.

In addition to helping consolidate loans in one form or another, Christian debt relief services often involve eliminating debt or settling the debt for less than the amount due. Creditors know that those who are experiencing extreme financial hardship typically will not be able to pay back all of the debt. They may be willing to lower interest rates or take less than the total owed.

Taking all of these things together to create a plan for each situation, debts can be typically be paid off and resolved in 2-5 years depending on the amount of debt and the amount of money available to pay it. With all the different services available through Christian debt relief today, there is something that will work for anyone looking to be debt-free and then staying that way.

Spring is a great time-it is a time when the flowers begin to bloom, the weather begins to warm and the opportunities for learning and teaching are endless. Now that spring is approaching, you may need some fresh ideas for your preschool Sunday School class. Here are some ideas for teaching your kids this spring season.

Go on a nature walk

Nature walks are a great way to get out of the class and not only stretch the legs and burn off some energy, but also for learning something new. When the kids get restless, grab the kids and head outdoors. When you take the children on a nature walk, give each one a small paper bag and let them pick up things they find along the way. They may find a pretty rock, a flower petal that has blown off, or even a bright green leaf. Let them collect their treasures to make a nature college back in the classroom. Another possibility is to take along some paper and crayons and let them do bark rubbings or leaf rubbings while out on a walk.

Plant a garden

Every kid loves planting and taking care of a garden. Find seeds that grow easily and start them indoors. Sunflowers, beans and grass seed all grow nicely. Use yogurt cups, egg cartons or pudding cups to start the seeds. Let the kids spoon in the dirt and care for the seeds until they sprout. Send them home or plant them outdoors in the school garden when they grow big enough. This is a fun learning activity and kids never get tired of watching their plants grow with care and a little sun.

Remember the birds

Spring is a time when the kids will start seeing the birds taking flight. Many of these feathered friends will start collecting string and twigs for nest and will look for food. Spring is a perfect time to make bird feeders and set out things for the birds to use. Bird feeders are easy. Make a pinecone bird feeder by spreading peanut butter all over the pinecone and sprinkling birdseed on the peanut butter. You can do the same thing with bagels, or you can spring popcorn and cereal on thread and hang it from a tree. Leave out pieces of string, small strips of fabric and small twigs that the birds can use to build a nest.

Make a kite

Of course no spring would be complete without flying a kite. Your kids will love having a kite day this spring. They can either make their own kite or bring their own and make flying the kites a full day of fun. There are many websites that offer tips and suggestions for building kites with kids.

Will there be sexual relations in heaven? Some say “No” because Jesus says in Matthew 22:30 that we will be like the angels. But, in the context of what Jesus was talking about in Matthew 22:30, what Jesus meant is that we will be like the angels in that there will be no marriage in heaven. A question was given to Jesus concerning a woman who had several husbands in her lifetime (each husband having died and the woman outliving them all). The question given to Jesus was who will be the woman’s husband at the resurrection since she had several husbands. Jesus responds by saying, “For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven” (Matthew 22:30, KJV).

In heaven no one will belong exclusively to one person and there will be no building of families in heaven as marriage involves. Only in this sense we will be like the angels because angels do not marry. But, we will not be like the angels in every other sense. For example, the Bible teaches that we will continue to be able to eat and enjoy food in our resurrected bodies, but angels are strictly spirit beings and don’t eat food.

On earth sex is reserved for marriage, but that does not mean that sex in heaven must require marriage. In this life sex within marriage also is a test of faithfulness, but in heaven no such test is necessary for only the faithful will be there. But, if there is sex in heaven it will be driven spiritually and by perfect love. It will not be driven by lust or the body and, yet, it will be more enjoyable for soul and body than any sex on earth. It is not something that we can now imagine in our fallen, selfish, and sinful state.

Human sexuality is so powerful because it is not only for reproduction. Animals don’t have sex all the time but humans do. Human sexuality is a hunger of the soul as well as body and that is because human sexuality is an expression of the essence of God.

The Bible teaches in Genesis that God created Adam and Eve in His image. God’s image is not limited to sexuality but sexuality is partly involved in making up that image. Some say that the image of God cannot include sexuality because animals also have male and female sexuality. But, again, animal sexuality and human sexuality are universes apart. Animal sexuality only involves reproduction. Human sexuality involves communication of the spirit and soul as well as that of the body. In the New Testament human sexuality is used as a picture of Christ’s spiritual relationship with the Church, the body of all true believers in Christ (Ephesians 5:31-32).

In Genesis 5:2 we read “Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created” (KJV). Notice that both the male and female were called “Adam” by God. Eve was taken out of Adam for Eve had already existed within Adam. The Bible teaches that God finished His creation on the seventh day which means that Eve, including her soul, must have existed in Adam since Eve was formed after creation week. The original Adam was both male and female.

The Bible expresses God as having both feminine and masculine characteristics. For example, sometimes God is pictured in Scripture as being nurturing as a mother. Both masculine and feminine are complementary not contradictory. It is the communication of give and take involved between male and female. Within God this give and take is perfect without selfishness or sin.

Why, then, does God refer to Himself as “He” in Scripture? One reason for why God, mostly, identifies with the male role, is because, after the fall of Adam and Eve, God has designed for the man to be the head of the household. Positionally, Eve was not put under Adam until after the Fall (original sin). She was put under Adam because she was the first to sin. Because of sin and the selfishness that comes from sin there cannot exist two equal heads of a household. For the better or worse one has to be in charge and be accountable for the whole family. Genesis is clear that only after Eve and Adam sinned was Eve put, positionally, under Adam, although both are equally created in God’s image and stand equally in worth and value before Him.

The Bible teaches that there will be both spiritual and bodily enjoyment in heaven. For example, Psalm 16:11 tells us that in God’s presence there will be fullness of joy (this is spiritual) and at God’s right hand there will be pleasures forevermore (pleasure is something experienced physically).

We must distinguish between selfishness and what I call “selfness”. Selfishness is sin because it involves wrong motives. Selfness, however, is not sin. When you want to enjoy good food it is not sin, but when you let the enjoyment of food control you then that is sin. Just because you want something for yourself does not mean you are being selfish. God wants us to love ourselves and others but in the right way.

In the Bible there are various things we call “types” because they picture spiritual things, but that doesn’t mean they are limited only to the spiritual realm. Jesus said eating bread and drinking wine are a type of communion with Him spiritually. Jesus was not talking about eating His physical body and blood. He Himself said in John 6:63 that He was talking spiritually when He talked about eating His flesh and drinking His blood.

When we who know Christ as our personal Lord and Savior are finally with Him then the full spiritual meaning of this will be realized, but that doesn’t mean because the type is fulfilled in heaven that there won’t be anymore eating and drinking. Even Jesus said that He would drink the fruit of the vine with His disciples in the Kingdom.

The Bible says that we do all things in life for the glory of God, even our eating and drinking, and, yes, our sex too. In this sense everything is spiritual because it is done with God in mind. When God is given thanks for the food we eat then eating and enjoying that food has a spiritual component. That’s what is meant by glorifying God in all we do.

Only when the image of God that exists in both sexes is realized and respected then, truly, both men and women will have respect for each other in all areas of relationships. Of course, God’s image is more than sexuality. It also encompasses His righteousness, His moral nature, His creativity, intelligence, reasoning, emotions, and a host of other elements.

In our present humanity, because of sin, God’s image has been corrupted but we still carry His image.

Because Jesus Christ, God’s eternal and only begotten Son, paid the penalty for sin that we can never fully pay to redeem ourselves, and because He rose from the dead, through genuine faith in Christ we can be forgiven of our sins and enjoy, though imperfectly, the presence of God in our lives now and perfectly enjoy His presence and everything He has for us in heaven.

Just as a co-signer of a loan takes the legal responsibility of paying someone else’s debt when the borrower defaults on the loan because the borrower can no longer afford to pay, so, too, Jesus Christ is mankind’s co-signer before God the Father for the infinite debt we owe God because of our sins and that no amount of good works or rituals or anything we can do can fully pay. If we could get to heaven through the Ten Commandments then there was no need for Christ to come and die on the Cross for our sins. Genuine faith in Christ and love for God will produce good works in our lives and help us to follow the Ten Commandments even though not perfectly. No one, in this life, can perfectly fulfill the Ten Commandments in thought, word, and deed.

Enjoy God, my friend, and some day everything and all enjoyment, physical as well as spiritual, will be yours for eternity. The Bible says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16, KJV).

The counterfeit Christian gives Excessive attention to material things such as houses, cars, clothes, jewelry, physical appearance, entertainment, Pursuit of wealth, power, fame, pleasure or status , job, hobbies, country, ideologies, heroes, leaders.

Counterfeit Christians can teach, preach, profess faith, do miracles, and perform good works.

“By their fruit you will recognize them” Jesus compares a fruit-bearing tree to a Christian.

80% of our country is Christian yet we have a 54% divorce rate. A majority of divorces are a result of irreconcilable differences, not adultery, which implies that Christians .The counterfeit Christian neglects the Bible guidelines and walks not according to Holy Spirit

“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Matthew 7:21-23.

A counterfeit Christian is someone who looks saved, talks saved, an act saved, but they are not saved. They usually believe they are saved. Some know they are not saved but want to fit in with those who are.

They often say the right things, hang out with the right people, some even read their bible and pray, but they are still lost and on their way to hell for eternity. Someone can appear to be a Christian and still be lost. They can think they’re a Christian and still be lost. Many hang around and grow up with Christians but they are still be lost.

Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men’s bones and everything unclean. In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness. ( Matthew 23:27-28)

We must realize the counterfeit modern Christianity produces counterfeit Christians who unknowingly have received a different Jesus and a different god, than those of the true gospel. They have been assured by Preachers that they have been born-again. Teaching a gospel that does not include the requirements of repentance and self-denial is not complete; and the birth that it produces is not of God. Those who preach and teach without including these requirements are as a wolf in sheep’s clothing, deceiving many.

Counterfeit Christians don’t genuinely hate sin and aren’t truly sorry for it; they’re merely sorry because God is going to punish them and rarely share their faith with their neighbors, coworkers, or friends. They do not want to be rejected, nor do they want to make people uncomfortable by talking about private issues like religion. Matthew 10:32-33

With rising costs and growing families, the commercialization of Christmas can get your shopping lists out of hand in a heartbeat. One way to help fray the costs is with the Secret Santa Gift Exchange.

Name swapping is a great way to both keep the spirit of giving alive and cut down on the expenses. The main idea behind it is that you place the names of everyone who’s participating into a bowl and each person draws a name out of the bowl. If you draw your own name you need to draw again.

You can do this for families, for the gang down at the office, your Sunday School class, or for whatever group you want.

Each person then buys a gift for the person whose name they drew out of the bowl. As with all activities, there are a few guidelines that everyone needs to follow. This helps everyone get something they like and no one has to go broke.

Propose the Secret Santa gift exchange before Thanksgiving so people have time to make up their minds about doing it. Everyone who wants to participate has the chance to sign up.Set clear guidelines for the gift exchange. Some examples are setting a limit on the amount that can be spent, both a high price and a low price. This is very important, as it will help make sure that the gifts stay on the same level. Some people will shop at a dollar store and others will buy a much more expensive gift. If you’ve set some limits then no one feels “cheated”. A limit of around twenty dollars for the office is not unreasonable and for families the amount can be higher.Have each person make a list of three things they want for Christmas that fall into that price range. Your Secret Santa gets to decide which of those three you get. If you ask for something that’s under the price limit, your Secret Santa can get you more than one thing as long as it doesn’t exceed the limit.Set the date for doing the gift swapping. It can be when your family normally gathers for Christmas or you can set a special date for it. At the office it can be done at the Christmas party or you can pick a day that is close to Christmas where everyone will be there.
Ideas for a Christmas gift exchange don’t have to be limited to the Secret Santa. You don’t have to keep the names a secret for example. See what other ideas you can come up with. Another example is having everyone make a gift from a specific list of things.

Get creative and have a wonderful Christmas.

The Salem witch trials are part of history and have been mythologised by numerous books and movies. They represent a chapter in Christianity and a part of American history which most people would rather forget. In a short period of time a number of innocent women were sent to be burnt at the stake because of a mistaken theology. Mistaken theology is the root cause of apostasy. When people who purport to be Christians behave in an excessive and irrational manner they bring Christ’s teachings of love and tolerance into disrepute and drive good people away from His church.

In some ways we have not learnt the lesson of the witch trials. The circular argument of “if you are demon possessed you float and therefore burn at the stake, but if you are a good Christian you sink and therefore die anyway,” still applies in many religious fields today. Often the very people who need Christ’s help the most are the ones who are marginalised and abandoned, while those who wear the flashiest suits and drive the nicest cars to church every Sunday are welcomed with open arms. Jesus teaches us that the opposite is true. If we boast of our wealth, wear it like a badge, it becomes an obstacle to our faith, yet how many churches every Sunday preach to the wealthiest in the community while neglecting the poorest?

Many women during the Salem trials, some of whom may have genuinely misbehaved, went to court and pleaded in their defence that they were being pursued by demons and forced into performing black arts. Those women, who in effect admitted to being witches, were released on the grounds that genuine witches would never admit to the fact. Meanwhile, innocent women who desperately tried to plead their innocence, were submitted to the grossest tests of their testimony and eventually killed. I don’t doubt that many of those juries believed they were doing God

Is 2012 the return of the Lord Jesus Christ? The Lord Jesus came as prophesied the first time to Bethlehem. He will return to this earth again this second time, according to prophecy, as well.

There were many misunderstandings about his first coming. Even his own disciples didn’t understand how the Galilean (Jesus) could be the Messiah, for all knew the Messiah had to be born in Bethlehem. It was only later that everyone understood the wonderful incarnation of Christ story in Luke chapter 2, how that Jesus’ earthly parents fled Bethlehem after His birth, and took the babe to Egypt, at the warning of the angel.

Even so now, there are many misunderstandings about the return of Jesus Christ.

a. Many have set dates for the Return of Jesus Christ. This is really quite foolish, and only self-serving and vain, for the odds are stacked against you, and you will soon join the ranks of countless others before you who guessed the date wrong.

b. Some believe the Return of Jesus Christ will be “spiritual”, meaning that He will not return bodily, physically, and personally. This is equally as foolish as the first point, for if the Lord Jesus came bodily the first time, and rose bodily from the grave the first time, and ascended into heaven the first time, there is no doubt that He can and will Return physically and bodily this second time.

c. Mayan mystics militate their myths, making much malarchy (try to say that three times) about the date 2012, and that the Return of Jesus Christ must, in some way, be tied in with that date. 2012 is being hyped up to fever pitch, but no matter how loud they shout, the truth remains that “No man knows the day, nor the hour” of the Lord’s return.

This leaves, however, the question remaining, “If the return of Christ isn’t December 21, 2012, then when does the Lord Jesus return?” It’s sort of like a gift or a present… It is more exciting if it is a surprise.

Do you know that you access to God at all times? In fact, He’s standing there waiting to hear your call. What inspiration we have knowing this.

Have you ever been sick to the point to where it’s unbearable? Many times when we get sick, we go to the doctor’s office and end up waiting hours before we get to see the doctor.

Thereafter, he may diagnose you, give you some pills, which by the way have more side effects than they actually work, and send you on your way. Even when you call 911, you have to wait on the ambulance to come to your rescue.

How often we forget that Jesus is standing there waiting on us to call Him. He is a right now God. What assurance we have in Him to know that we can go to Him boldly and He is ready and waiting at the point of our needs; not two hours from the point of our needs, not tomorrow or next month, but He is ready and available now.

Ephesians 3:12 says, “in whom we have boldness [not fear] and access with confidence [not doubt] through faith in Him.

My friend we serve a mighty God and He can attend to every one of our needs. You see when a mother is bringing up her children, no matter how much love she has for every child in the household, she can’t attend to every child at the same time.

Isn’t it amazing to know that we have access to Him at all times, not just eight to five, not just at the midnight hour but all day everyday and He can attend to all of our needs at the same time?

My friend I implore you to go to God boldly with faith and confidence. He is always there waiting at the point of your need. Know today that “God shall supply all of your needs according to His riches in glory by Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 4:18)

This is the seventh article of the series:

“The Foreigner woman in Bible versus Quran”

In the previous articles of this series, we have seen that Language-wise, the “foreign” woman or the “strange” woman is the alien or the exotic or the outsider woman.  However, the Bible has another opinion.

As confirmed by the Bible, the “foreign” woman or the “strange” woman is the non-Israelite woman or the non-Jewish woman.

As a result, all non-Israelite or all the non-Jewish women are “foreign” women or “strange” women.

This indicates that the women in the Bible are but one of two categories; they are either Legitimate (genuine) or Foreign (strange).

According to the inspired word of God, the Bible gives three examples of the foreign women; all of them were prostitutes.

As a matter of fact, all the foreign women in the Old Testament save Ruth are prostitutes or evil or robbers and they are unfaithful and they lead to death.

The first foreign woman was Rahab, the prostitute, who welcomed the spies and helped them against her country.

The second foreign woman, a prostitute, was the mother of Jephthah, a mighty man of valor who delivered Israel from the oppression of the Ammonites and judged Israel six years.

The third foreign woman was from Gaza. One day Samson went to Gaza, where he saw a prostitute. He went in to spend the night with her.

The most important one of these foreign women is Rahab the prostitute as the Bible calls her.

Rahab in the Old Testament (Joshua 2 and 6)

Joshua sent two spies to spy Jericho. They went and entered the house of a prostitute named Rahab and stayed there.  This Biblical verse throws some light about the importance of the women especially the prostitutes in the “world of spies”.   The king of Jericho sent this message to Rahab: “Bring out the men who came to you and entered your house, because they have come to spy out the whole land.

After invading Jericho, Joshua commanded: The city and all that is in it are to be totally destroyed. Only Rahab the prostitute and all who are with her in her house shall be spared, because she hid the spies.

Joshua had said unto the two men that had spied out the country, Go into the prostitute‘s house, and bring out thence the woman, and all that she has, as you swore unto her.

And Joshua spared Rahab the prostitute, with her family and all who belonged to her; because she hid the men Joshua had sent as spies to Jericho; and she lives among the Israelites.  And Joshua destroyed with the sword every living thing in Jericho, men and women, young and old, cattle, sheep and donkeys.

Rahab in the New Testament

1) Matthew puts Rahab the prostitute, in the Genealogy of the Lord Jesus, as being one of family tree of the Lord Jesus.

2) Paul says: By faith the prostitute Rahab, because she welcomed the spies, was not killed with those who were disobedient.

3) James says: even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them out by another way?

Rahab and Jericho; her citizenship was violated to the highest degree

Rahab was a Jericho citizen, she changed to the side of Jericho’s enemy and helped the spies; she did not listen to her king. She is a collaborator in the total destruction of her city.  Was she a turncoat to her country, was she an agent of the enemy and traitor to her homeland?

However, the Bible, especially the New Testament, honors Rahab very much!

It seems likely that helping the spies against your country is a relative issue; some believe that it is the top crime against your country although the others say that it is the sign of faith and righteousness!

Also, the cause of invasion of Jericho is not mentioned. Why did Joshua invade Jericho and destroyed with the sword every living thing in it, all men and women, young and old, cattle, sheep and donkeys.

It was total destruction of all forms of life, every living thing, men and all the foreign women, babies, girls, kids, even all the animals were killed.

I really do not think that God Love would be happy with such acts.

Also, I am not sure if you smart reader know that the sword is mentioned more than 400 times in the Bible (a year is 365 days!); and the sword is never ever mentioned in the entire Quran.

On the other hand, Joshua, Rahab, Jephthah, Samson, Jericho and Gaza are not mentioned therein in the entire Quran.

Moreover, the idiom “Foreign woman” is not found in the Quran; all women are equal in respect to their rights and responsibilities regardless of race, color, location etc.

Moreover, I wonder why Matthew and Mark insist that the splendid Saint Mary was an ordinary woman; she married Joseph who begot four children from her.

In the Quran, Saint Mary was one of the best four women ever walked on the earth. No man touched her; she was absolutely pure and virgin until she died. She was virgin all through her life from birth to death and no man has ever touched her. All respects, greetings and Peace are due to her and her son.

Nevertheless, both Matthew (13:55) and Mark (6:3) claim that Joseph begot four boys from Saint Mary; they were James, Joseph, Simon and Judas. These four boys are the four brothers of the Lord Jesus (four God’s brothers!).

Besides, the genealogy of the Lord Jesus in the Bible is composed of 42 generations according to Matthew-1 while it is composed of 55 generations according to Mark-3, i.e., there are 13 missed generations. These 42 or 55 generations are from Abraham to Joseph who married Mary and had four children from her.  On the other hand, the genealogy of the Lord Jesus in the Quran is only three words: “Jesus the Son of Mary!”  PERIOD

The Bible (New International Version)

Joshua 2:1

Then Joshua son of Nun secretly sent two spies from Shittim. “Go; look over the land,” he said, “especially Jericho.” So they went and entered the house of a prostitute named Rahab and stayed there.

Joshua 2:3

So the king of Jericho sent this message to Rahab: “Bring out the men who came to you and entered your house, because they have come to spy out the whole land.”

Joshua 6:17

The city and all that is in it are to be devoted to the LORD. Only Rahab the prostitute and all who are with her in her house shall be spared, because she hid the spies we sent.

Joshua 6:21

They devoted the city to the LORD and destroyed with the sword every living thing in it—men and women, young and old, cattle, sheep and donkeys.

Joshua 6:22

Joshua said to the two men who had spied out the land, “Go into the prostitute‘s house and bring her out and all who belong to her, in accordance with your oath to her.”

Joshua 6:25

But Joshua spared Rahab the prostitute, with her family and all who belonged to her, because she hid the men Joshua had sent as spies to Jericho—and she lives among the Israelites to this day.

Hebrews 11:31

By faith the prostitute Rahab, because she welcomed the spies, was not killed with those who were disobedient.

James 2:25

In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction?

Judges 11:1

Jephthah the Gileadite was a mighty warrior. His father was Gilead; his mother was a prostitute.

Judges 16:1

One day Samson went to Gaza, where he saw a prostitute. He went in to spend the night with her.

Matthew 1:1, 5

1A record of the genealogy of Jesus Christ the son of David, the son of Abraham:

5Salmon the father of Boaz, whose mother was Rahab, Boaz the father of Obed, whose mother was Ruth, Obed the father of Jesse (the father of King David),

Matthew 13:55

“Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t his mother’s name Mary, and aren’t his brothers James, Joseph, Simon and Judas?

The Quran

In the entire Quran, the term “foreign woman” is not mentioned therein; all women are equal in respect to their rights and responsibilities regardless of race, color, location etc.

To avoid repetition, the interested reader can read the previous six articles of this series: “The Foreigner woman in Bible versus Quran”.

Use these Bible Trivia questions and answers to stimulate conversation in your next Bible Study Class. Search the King James Bible for the answers. Three of the great bible stories include John’s vision of the pearly gates, Daniel’s battle with Goliath, and the story of Noah building the ark and saving the animals. The 10 Bible trivia questions below include interesting facts and excerpts from these great bible stories and more.

John’s first vision of the holy city of Jerusalem was sent from God. One of the seven angels took John to a mountain top so he could view the great city. The story inspires both children and adults alike. Daniel, though his faith in God, enters the battle with no armor just 5 stones and a sling, and he defeats Goliath.

Another great tale from the Bible that children enjoy is the story of Noah’s Ark. Churches are well-known for helping with charitable works in the community. They fund and assist with programs like meals for the homeless, food banks and other community services. Most churches have volunteers to help with these programs, but sometimes the church budgets don’t allow them the financial freedom to do as much as they would like. You can be awarded churches grants from various endowments and corporations, as well as some government entities. These monies can help your church flourish in all your good works.

Grants will generally only be awarded to faith-based groups if they have specific needs to address. In the case of Churches Grants, these needs may vary from construction of a new church or church building, to setting up a community center for the homeless. There are various grants available, and companies like Here-4 You Consulting can help you learn to properly write a grant request, so that you can find the funding for the current goals that your church has.

The term church obviously does not refer only to the building where you worship. A church is a congregation that meets to worship and serve God. Churches grants can help new or struggling parishes to construct buildings to meet in and to use for service to the community. These grants may be used for remodeling existing buildings or building new ones. Were it not for grants, some towns would not even have a place for homeless people to sleep and eat, or any programs that aid people in getting back on their feet. These grant monies help churches to perform vital functions in the community.

Learning to do grant writing is an all-important skill, because it can mean the difference between having funds to help the church and its community, or not. If you use the services of a company like Here-4 You Consulting, they can help you perfect your grant writing, as well as finding the possible grants that would be most beneficial to your faith-based organization. Low cost services are available to aid your group in obtaining churches grants.

Applying for help in obtaining your 501-c(3) status and then writing grants will enable your organization to obtain funding for projects that will benefit your congregation and your community. Select a company with high quality services to help you to obtain grant monies. These services are available in the United States and many foreign countries as well.

The Foreigner woman in Bible versus Quran (9)

This is the ninth article of the series: “The Foreigner woman in Bible versus Quran”

In the previous articles (1-8), we have seen that in Language, the “foreign” woman is the alien or the exotic or the outsider woman.  However, the Bible has another view.  As confirmed by the Bible, the “foreign” woman is the non-Israelite woman or the non-Jewish woman.

As a result, any non-Israelite or any non-Jewish woman is a “foreign” women.

This indicates that the women in the Bible are but one of two categories; they are either Legitimate (genuine) or Foreign (strange).

In the previous article (The Foreigner woman in Bible versus Quran-8), The Bible gives the policy of how to deal with the foreign women in the war, kill every woman who has slept with a man; but capture and save for you every girl who has never slept with a man.

In the present article, The Bible (Deuteronomy 2:31-35, Deuteronomy 3:3-7, Judges 21:10 1 and 1Samuel 15:2-3) gives four more examples in adopting a policy of targeted killings of the foreign women in the war.  The Bible says:

(1) And the Lord God said unto Moses, Behold, I have begun to deliver up Sihon and his country before you: begin to conquer and possess his land. Then Sihon came out against us, him and all his people, unto battle at Jahaz. And the Lord God delivered him up before us; and we smote him, and his sons, and all his people. And we took all his cities at that time, and completely destroyed every inhabited city, and we killed all men, women and children; we left no survivor; we left no one alive.  Only the livestock we took as spoil for ourselves, with the plunder of the cities that we captured.

(2) So Jehovah our God delivered into our hand Og also, the king of Bashan, and all his people: and we smote him until none was left to him remaining. And we took all his cities at that time; there was not a city which we took not from them; threescore cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan. All these were cities fortified with high walls, gates, and bars; besides the unwalled towns a great many. And we completely destroyed them, as we did unto Sihon king of Heshbon, totally destroying every inhabited city, and we killed all men, women and children. But all the cattle, all the livestock and the plunder from their cities we carried off for ourselves.

(3) And the company send there twelve thousand men of the sons of valor, and command them, saying, Go and smite the inhabitants of Jabesh-Gilead by the mouth of the sword, even the women and the infants.

(4) In addition, the Bible says: This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘I will punish the Amalekites for what they did to Israel when they waylaid them as they came up from Egypt. Now go and strike the Amalekites and totally destroy everything that belongs to them. Do not spare them, but kill men and women, children, infants and suckling, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.’” Herein, the Lord God Love commanded to kill the infants and suckling in addition.

Again, it may be productive to remind the smart reader that the sword is mentioned more than 400 times in the Bible; and the sword is never ever mentioned in the entire Quran.

In the entire Quran, the term “foreign woman” is not mentioned therein; all women are equal in respect to their rights and responsibilities regardless of race, color, location etc. To avoid repetition, the interested reader can read the previous seven articles of this series: “The Foreigner woman in Bible versus Quran 1-7″.

Moses’ Wars in the Quran:

On the other hand, these Biblical tales of the wars between the Israelites and Sihon the king of Heshbon, Og the king of Bashan, the inhabitants of Jabesh-Gilead and the Amalekites are not mentioned therein in the entire Quran.

Also, Sihon, Heshbon, Og, Bashan, Argob, Jabesh-Gilead, Jahaz, the 60 fortified cities, the unwalled towns, and the Amalekites are not mentioned therein in the entire Quran.

It should be emphasized that Moses is mentioned 124 times in the Quran while Muhammad is mentioned four times only in the whole Quran; i.e. for each 31 times Moses is mentioned in the Quran, Muhammad is mentioned once.  However, in these 124 times of Moses, the Quran does not say that Moses had wars with Sihon the king of Heshbon or Og the king of Bashan.

Is the Quran anti-Israelites? Once more,

Ethically speaking, if the Quran is anti-Israelites then such massacre wars and bloodbaths would have been magnified and exaggerated in the Quran and it would be said: look at these people how they behave in the wars!  But the Quran does not say anything like that.

Furthermore, do you smart reader believe that the Lord God Love is happy with the outcome of such reasonless wars?

On the other hand, the Prophet Muhammad put strict Prohibition against Killing Women and Children in Military Expeditions.  Muhammad commanded not to kill women and children.

Also, Abu Bakr (the Muslims’ leader after Muhammad’s death) put ten ethical Commandments in War starting with: Do not kill women and children.

The Bible (King James Version)

Deuteronomy 2:31-35

31And the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have begun to give Sihon and his land before thee: begin to possess, that thou mayest inherit his land.

32Then Sihon came out against us, he and all his people, to fight at Jahaz.

33And the Lord our God delivered him before us; and we smote him, and his sons, and all his people.

34And we took all his cities at that time, and utterly destroyed the men, and the women, and the little ones, of every city, we left none to remain:

35Only the cattle we took for a prey unto ourselves, and the spoil of the cities which we took.

Deuteronomy 3:3-7

3So the Lord our God delivered into our hands Og also, the king of Bashan, and all his people: and we smote him until none was left to him remaining.

4And we took all his cities at that time, there was not a city which we took not from them, threescore cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan.

5All these cities were fenced with high walls, gates, and bars; beside unwalled towns a great many.

6And we utterly destroyed them, as we did unto Sihon king of Heshbon, utterly destroying the men, women, and children, of every city.

7But all the cattle, and the spoil of the cities, we took for a prey to ourselves.

Judges 21:10

10And the congregation sent thither twelve thousand men of the valiantest, and commanded them, saying, Go and smite the inhabitants of Jabeshgilead with the edge of the sword, with the women and the children.

1 Samuel 15:2-3

2Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt.

3Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.

Muhammad Prohibition against Killing Women

The Prophet Muhammad put strict Prohibition against Killing Women and Children in Military Expeditions.  Muhammad commanded not to kill women and children.

In Hadith, Muhammad puts the Ethical law in war

In narrated Hadith, Muhammad says:

1) Allah’s Apostle disapproved the killing of women and children,

2) Allah’s Apostle forbade the killing of women and children,

3) Do not mutilate (the dead) bodies, and

4) Do not kill the children and the elders.

In addition, after Muhammad’s death, Abu Bakr became the Muslims’ leader.

Abu Bakr and the Ten Commandments in War

Abu Bakr gave Ten ethical Commandments to his military officers before sending them to a war against the disbelievers; Abu Bakr said: “I command you ten things. Do not kill women or children or an aged, infirm person. Do not cut down fruit-bearing trees. Do not destroy an inhabited place. Do not slaughter sheep or camels except for food. Do not burn bees and do not scatter them. Do not steal from the booty, and do not be cowardly.”

Christening is an event that is marked with joy and excitement always and this is why giving gifts at this time is more or less considered to be a part of the ceremony. When it comes to selecting the gifts for a christening function there are numerous interesting choices present in front of the buyers. Some of the most common christening gifts include christening bibles, silver items, accessories, mugs and much more. Most of the people when they visit any christening party make an effort to stick to the things that are more traditional and the christening bibles are one of them.

Christening bibles are available in a wide variety of shapes, colors and sizes and the buyers can buy the one that seems perfect for the occasion. The children bibles can be bought keeping in mind that either it is a baby girl or a baby boy. If it is a baby girl, then one can search for the christening bibles that include various girlish colors such as pink and blue in the outer covers. If it is a baby boy then the engraved christening bibles with the date and time of birth of the child engraved on it would work fine. Although most of the people limit the engraving to just the details of the child, it is possible to engrave some nice verses of the bible on the rear side of the bible also.

Buyers have to check that the quality of the casing and that of the paper of the bible is fine as the child is going to see the pictures in it and read stories from it as he or she grows older. If bible is having any kind of embossing then it has to be checked that it is not coming out from the edges and is not making the bible rough to hold. When coming to the personalised messages that have to be written on these christening bibles, people have to ensure that they exhibit their sentiments in the minimum possible words as the suppliers just give a space to write 50 or 60 characters.

If one is finding it tough to find a great looking christening bible from the local stores, then the help of Internet can be taken. There are many online sellers who specialize in personalised gifts and ensure that the presentation of the christening bibles is simply out of this world.

Moses, Isaiah and Ezekiel saw God enthroned upon the seat of His majesty surrounded by the seraphims, and receiving worship from the angelic host; the last days, this is Jesus sitting upon the throne of His servant King David The signs of the last days are anticipated. The End of time is imminent. The time of the end is at hand. John saw all things that will shortly come to pass; and now more than ever. In last Days, we see the divine astronomicalworship of Jesus who has been raised to life again to sit in the throne of God. This is a most glorious scene. Here is Jesus of Nazareth, who was mutilated, savagely beat up, hung, and nailed naked to a tree; now sitting gloriously in the eternal throne of his servant David. The twenty-four Jewish elders, and angelic host, and millions upon millions fall down before him in adoration and praise. All creation bows before him and worship. Why is Jesus receiving eternal worship? Why is all of creation bowing before Jesus? Why is every knee kneeling before Jesus? Why? Why, because he is worthy. Jesus is worthy because he accepted to be murdered in order to ransom and redeem the elect of God. The divine Godhead premeditated, ordained, and predestinated deliverance for believers in the Christian Church.

The basis of the Last Day, God promise made to David concerning eternal salvation, was founded upon David’s worship experience; King David worshipped God with all his soul, and all his desire, God promised David that, in the Last Days, he will give the Christian Church unconditional salvation. He guaranteed salvation to David and his seed. The prophet Nathan, in 2 Samuel 7:12-16, prophesied to David the King, saying: “Thus say the LORD, when your days are complete and you lie down with your fathers, I will raise up your descendant after you, who shall come forth from you, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build a house (The Christian Church) for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. I will be a father to him and he will be a son to Me; when he commits iniquity, I will correct him with the rod of men and the strokes of the sons of men, but My loving kindness will not depart from him, as I took it away from Saul, whom I removed before you. And, in the Last Days, your house (The Christian Church) and your kingdom shall endure before Me forever; your throne shall be established forever. The prophet Isaiah in 55:1 said in, the Last Days, thus say the LORD: “Let the wicked forsake his way; and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return to the LORD, and He will have compassion on him, and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon. Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labor for that which satisfies not? Hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness. Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.

In Last Days, Paul said in Acts 13:24: “Hanging from the cross, Jesus knew that His body would not see corruption. He said, ‘I will give you the sacred blessings I promised to David ” After removing Saul, he made David their king. He testified concerning him: ‘I have found David son of Jesse a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do.’ It is to us that this message of salvation has been sent. The people of Jerusalem and their rulers did not recognize Jesus, yet in condemning him they fulfilled the words of the prophets that are read every Sabbath. Though they found no proper ground for a death sentence, they asked Pilate to have him disposed of. When they had carried out all that was written about him, they took him down from the tree and laid him in a tomb. But God raised him from the dead, and for many days he was seen by those who had traveled with him from Galilee to Jerusalem. They are now his witnesses to our people. “We tell you the good news: What God promised our fathers he has fulfilled for us, their children, by raising up Jesus. As it is written in the second Psalm: ‘You are my Son; today I have become your Father. The fact that God raised Jesus from the dead, never to decay, is stated in these words: ‘I will give you the holy and sure blessings promised to David.

God raised Jesus from the dead to turn each of us away from our sins. His resurrection is the creation of a new creation for the children of God; a creation which consists of the new heaven and new earth, where Jesus sits upon the throne. In the informationof Jesus Christ, the Godhead makes plain that Jesus, as the creator of all things, is worthy of cosmic worship.. The prophet said: “Tell the daughter of Zion, Behold, your King is coming to you, Meek, and riding upon a donkey, And upon a colt, the foal of a donkey.’ And the disciples went, and did just as Jesus had instructed them, and brought the donkey, and the colt, and put on them their garments; and he sat thereon. Upon his entrance into Jerusalem, those who recognized their need for Jesus spread their garments in the road; and others cut branches from the trees, and spread them in the road. And the crowds that went before him, and that followed, cried out, saying, ‘Hosanna [save now!] to the son of David: Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. So, in the Last Days, in Revelation chapter four (4) and five (5) we see million upon millions offering divine worship to Him that sits upon the eternal throne of servant David. Not only in the heavens is Jesus worshipped. He is worshipped by all creation. Everything in the earth, the sea, and under the earth worships Jesus, the lion of the tribe Judah and the root of David. The heathens said to Jesus, make these people stop praising you.

The heathens said to Jesus: ” it is not lawful for you to receive praise”. The heathens said to Jesus: “You cannot receive admiration, because you are in the flesh; and God has not and will not come in the flesh.. Tell them to shut up”. Jesus said: “These cannot hold their peace, because it’s like fire shut up in their bones. For at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow and every tongue shall acknowledge that Jesus is the Lord God Almighty in both heaven and earth. Every person that confesses that Jesus is Almighty God come in the flesh shall be saved. Every spirit that confesses Jesus is God make plain in the flesh is of God. Only the children of the beast deny the absolute divinity of Jesus. In these last days, those that offer boundless homage to Jesus will be persecuted. But the Christian believer is willing to suffer victimizationfor the wonderful name of Jesus; for Jesus is the worthy of all praise, honor, glory, headship and power. Jesus has rescued the Church from every dominance, power, ruler of blackness, and spiritual evil intent in high places. Jesus has emancipated the elect, with His blood, from every activity of the devil, sin, death, hell, and the lake of fire. Jesus is good as gold.

Memory verses are a great tool for reinforcing lessons and Bible stories to your Sunday school classroom. Older children have a better ability at remembering and retaining memory verses, but preschoolers need a little more time. The following tips will help you teach your Sunday school children the memory verses, while retaining the lesson.

Keep it simple:

The first rule of thumb when teaching your class a new memory verse is to keep it as simple as possible. Preschoolers simply do not have the ability to remember long, complicated verses. Simple is always better. To keep memory verses simple, aim for a single sentence or just a few words that gets the point of the lesson across. Simple examples of easy to remember memory verses include Luke 12:34: For where your treasure is, there will be your heart also. Or, Psalms 148:3: Praise ye Him, sun and moon praise Him, all ye stars of light. These are just two examples of how simple you can keep the memory verse for the children to remember.

Have fun with it:

Next, in order for preschoolers to retain a memory verse, you will want to have fun with it and not repeat it over and over again. Repetition is boring at this age, so think of ways to incorporate the verse into your weekly activities. For the above examples, you could make a star and moon mobile for the children to take home, or stamp stars and moons in a black sheet of paper in glow in the dark paint. Make sure you include the memory verse on every craft, too.

Sing the verse:

Another great idea to help your children remember their memory verse is to come up with a simple song or poem that they can sing or say. Simply saying the verse may not do the trick, but put it with a catchy tune, and you may find they are able to remember it much faster.

Give out rewards:

You might also want to consider giving out rewards for remembering memory verses. Introduce the verse one week and send it home for practicing. If the child can repeat the verse the following week, let them add a sticker to a memory verse chart or get a small treat out of a prize box. You will want to have realistic expectations for your children, too. On average, you can expect preschoolers to remember and retain one memory verse a month.

It is not impossible for your preschoolers to remember memory verses. Help them along by presenting these verses in a fun, easy to remember manner.

As a new believer, I was introduced to some Bible songs like “Behold, Behold,” “The Lord is My Shepherd,” and “I am the Resurrection and the Life”. Many times I was not aware that I was actually singing a Bible verse. Later, when I came across the verse in my reading, I was surprised that I already knew it.
Yes, help in memorizing Scripture is one of the main benefits of Bible verse songs. Music has a rhythm and when that rhythm locks the words of the Bible into it, the verse is much easier to recall. Television advertisers have used this for years to get the name of their product into the minds of the public. It works too for I can still remember commercial tunes I learned over 50 years ago!
However, though poetry is easy to put to music because of its meter, Bible verses are not so written. Ways to do so successfully is the subject of another article. When it is accomplished, however, the meter of the song dictates the next word and locks it in.
Scripture songs also help us remember the verses we memorized. I can recall numerous times when I think of a verse while speaking and can quote it exactly. However, mentally I am actually singing it in my mind quickly. The rhythm of the song helps me retain the Bible words
Several years ago I taught third grade in a Christian school. Some of my students had difficulty learning the memory verse for the day and I wanted to help them. The answer was music. Singing the verse aided them in both learning and retaining it.
This has also been for me a means of meditating on the Bible. A Bible verse song runs over and over in my mind and, of course, so do the words. The Spirit has thus used this to apply the Bible verse to my life in numerous situations.
A good song will, in fact, bring out the meaning of a verse. An example of this is found in a verse that, in the KJV, contains a misplaced modifier, 2 Corinthians 5:21. It says, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin” Obviously, Paul is not teaching that we are sinless, but Christ is. Through repetition of the phrases, the song makes this clear.
Bible Songs can also be a way to present the Gospel. Several years ago I taught my class all of the verses in the Roman’s Road set to music and then we sang them for a parent assembly. The plan of salvation was presented to the audience in a way that was hard for any unsaved relatives to ignore.
Finally, Bible verse songs are a means of retaining Scripture as I get older. It is much more difficult for me to memorize Bible verses and remember them now, than it was when I was younger. However, I can still remember a song and through this means can learn and retain verses.

God made music. The Bible is God’s Word. When the two are united, this results in a unique and timeless blessing available through Bible songs.

Facebook is one of the most popular social media websites in the world. Hundreds of thousands of new subscribers are getting onto this platform every single day. Rubbish! The Bible is the Number 1 Best seller of all publications in the world. Rubbish!

Where am I coming from?

Facebook has become so popular because there is something attractive about it. Its influence has spread over to the business communities in that whatever is said on Facebook can make or break a company. By the same token, the Bible has been the top selling publication for ages because there is something powerful about it. It has tremendous impact on lives! It shall prosper and heal you! To those who are not on Facebook, it is but rubbish. Similarly, to those who are not into Jesus, the Bible is trash.

I will have you know this day that the Holy Bible is all about the person of Jesus! From the first page to the last!

Millions upon millions of lives have been positively impacted by Jesus since time immemorial. Multitudes have been prospered and healed in churches: the body of Jesus Christ. Why then are miracles confined to churches? You got it right! It is because the goodness and loveliness of Jesus are talked about only in churches!

Incidentally, churches are but assemblies of people talking about Jesus! A church is not confined to some buildings. A group of friends or family members gathered together to talk about Jesus is a church!

The Bibles says that when you talk about Jesus, signs and wonders shall follow. In short, miracles happen whenever you talk about the person of Jesus!

Why then are miracles not prevalent in our times? Yes, you got it right again! It is because we do not talk about Jesus and Jesus crucified. The early churches in the Book of Acts were super powerful!

Handkerchiefs of the prophets healed the sick! The dead were raised! What was the attitude of Apostle Paul, our grace minister? It was this: “I resolved to know nothing else except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.” (1 Corinthians 2:2)

I declare this day forward that I resolved to know nothing else except Jesus Christ and Him crucified!

The Book of Acts also recorded that the Apostles have been warned not to speak anymore in that name (Acts 4:17).

What was the Apostle Peter’s response? It was this: ” And now, Lord, behold their threatening: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of thy holy child Jesus.” (Acts 4:29-30).

This day, I ask of the same!

Terror struck the hearts of the Pharisees when the wonderful name of Jesus was preached. What was in that name? It is this: “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a Name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, of things in heaven, and things on earth, and things under the earth.” (Philippians 2:9-10)

Sicknesses and diseases must go in Jesus’ name! Poverty and lack must vanish in the name of Jesus! All imperfections must bow to that wonderful name of Jesus!

At this point, I would have you know that sicknesses and diseases and disasters NEVER came from God. Mankind has been deceived to believe this lie! It is not the Father’s will that any should perish.

From then till now, Satan has been working hard to tarnish the good reputation of our loving Abba Father. Satan has been using the aged tactics of fear to stop the talk about Jesus: Fear of ridicule and shame, mockery and rejection.

Why is Satan trying so hard to stop us from talking about Jesus? It is because he wants to hide a secret.

What secret? It is this. More than two thousand years ago, Satan suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of Jesus! Satan was disarmed! Satan was stripped of all his powers! Satan lost his dominion over mankind! (Colossians 2:15).

When Jesus was crucified, Satan imagined that he has won the ultimate battle against God. Satan imagined that he would have eternal dominion over the world and mankind. Satan thought his deep desire to become God has come to fruition.

What Satan least expected was these. When Jesus was crucified on the Cross, all of God’s judgment against our sins for all of eternity has been poured on the body of Jesus! Today, our sins and lawless deeds, God remembers no more (Hebrews 10:17). And as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from Him (Psalms 103:12).

When Jesus was flogged and his flesh torn apart beyond human recognition, every stroke He bore took away all our diseases and infirmities. And by his stripes, we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5)

In the three days when Jesus died, he went to the depth of hell. He sank to the lowest depths of Hades: in the lowest pit, the pit of dense darkness. His soul has arrived at Sheol, the kingdom of death and He became a man without God. He was wasted (Psalms 88).

The whole hosts of hell were upon Him and He was going through agonies beyond human imagination and then suddenly, He was justified and made alive! He hurled back the hosts of darkness and He put them to naught; He paralyzed their death dealing power. (Hebrews 2:14)

Jesus became the master of all hell. “He disarmed the principalities and the powers; He made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.” (Colossians 2:15).

If you have watched the Movie “The Passion of Christ”, you may recall the scenes when Jesus was flogged, spit at, punched and eventually nailed on the Cross.

I believe these scenes somewhat depict a sense of the untold agonizing sufferings that Jesus took on our behalf when He was three days and three nights in the pit!

The only difference is this. Picture it in your mind with me.

While Jesus was undergoing all that agonizing pain (and I can imagine Satan laughing his heart out), He suddenly broke free, flung every host of darkness that were all over Him, bashed them up and then held Satan up by his neck before slamming him to the ground and trampling him under His feet!

Satan was shivering and trembling in utter shock, absorbing that truth of his humiliating defeat!

And this is what I call: “He who laughs first, laughs last!”

It was as if our Lord Jesus sang this song: “Caught you by surprise. You didn’t realize that your life has changed forever!”

Satan’s life has been changed to eternal damnation.

Our lives have been changed to eternal blessedness. Not only in heaven but RIGHT NOW! And when God raised Jesus from the dead that was our ultimate victory! That victory was ours! Jesus has come to do for us what we can never do! Jesus has defeated Satan and became the absolute master of satanic forces! He has done it for us, as us!

Now, you can see why Satan is so afraid of you talking about Jesus!

Satan does not want you to know that YOU are his MASTER!

Satan is our defeated foe who tries to deceive us into believing that he still has dominion over us! To the extent he manages to stop us from talking and knowing Jesus, to that extent he wields dominion over us.

Satan can only succeed insofar as we allow him to.

Satan will use all sorts of contradictory circumstances in an attempt to deceive us into submission to his pseudo powers.

But NOW I KNOW! I stand on God’s Word! I stand on the eternal truth of Jesus’ victory; MY VICTORY! Isn’t Jesus Good News? With all these in mind, why should I be ashamed to talk about Jesus, the good news, the Gospel?! “For I am not ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the power unto salvation.”

It is not just salvation to enter heaven. It is salvation from sicknesses, diseases, infirmities, pains, poverty; in short LACK!

All that is history!

NOW, I have abundant life for “Jesus has come that I may have life and have it more abundantly” (John 10:10). What stands between LACK and ABUNDANCE is this: YOUR acceptance of what Jesus has done for YOU!

God says: “I lay before you life and death, therefore choose well and choose LIFE”. The very moment YOU receive Jesus as your personal Savior and believe that He died for your sins and three days later was resurrected; the eternal abundant life NOW and for ETERNITY is YOURS!

For everyone who is in Christ is a new creation; old things have passed away and behold, ALL things have become NEW! What’s your pick?

Let’s talk about Jesus!

=============================================

THE MANY ‘SINS’ OF TB JOSHUA

When a man is subjected to persistent barrage of attacks instigated by his foes and detractors, the very simple question to be asked is: What is/are his sin(s)?

The world has seen and heard of the stories of individuals who dared to change the world by involving themselves in peculiar acts and activities; those which are rare and hard to comprehend and understand by the customary reasoning of human. These individuals eventually succeeded in their quest, by being persistent and sustaining their unique ideas, proposition and principles.

Think of a world conquering individual and you will sure see traces of the acts of propaganda, name-calling, smear campaign, slanderous campaign, and the likes, thrown at them by their opposition and detractors.

Jesus Christ

Nelson Mandela

Michelangelo

Thomas Alva Edison

Neil Armstrong

The list above, amongst many others which cannot be mentioned, comprises great men who impacted positively on the lives of their generation and generation yet unborn. Yet, they were criticized, chastised, humiliated, imprisoned and jettisoned, all because of their ideas and unique contributions to their communities.

Certain qualities are common about the lives of these people; they remained persistent and courageous, and paid any price to protect their purpose in life. The lesson to be learnt is clear; for a person to be in the centre of his world, he must be willing to accept criticism of the detractors when they come.

One man who has consistently thrived in the midst of his detractors is Prophet TB Joshua, the founder of The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations, Lagos-Nigeria. This man of God with the gift of accurate prophetic declaration, healing, deliverance and preaching of the Gospel, has stunned the world at large with series of prophetic messages that have turned out to be true and confirmed by the recipients.

The very fact that the popularity of this prophet has soared thanks to much criticism he has received from home and abroad, attests to his many trials. In the past decade, he has been bombarded by claims that he is a false prophet of God. In the midst of these, his continued calm and silence has endeared him to many.

So the question is: What is/are the sin(s) of TB Joshua?

The fact that he cannot boast of a mentor? The fact that he performs miracles and deliverance? The fact that he issues prophetic statements that turn out to be true? The fact that he is a humble man? The fact that he cannot boast of the best educational qualification? The fact that he prefers to be involved in charitable causes? The fact that he is friend to the needy, beggars, widows, widowers, leaders, presidents, renowned personalities and indeed, friend to all? The fact that he pastors a congregation of citizens of the world?

Whatever his sin(s), let us all be aware that great men attract great rejection. That is what makes them thick. That is the tonic that strengthens them. Imagine the kind of opposition that Jesus Christ and the likes faced in their time.

Would you have believed them then?

Is there a time for you, as a Christian, to tell somebody that you will no longer have anything to do with them? And, if so, how do you do that in a Christlike manner?

Last May I ended an acquaintance that had lasted for ten years. I had encountered this man, on average, a couple of times per week over that decade and from the start I noticed that he tended to become very negative about many things. Sometimes I agreed with him. Most times, I did not. But our conversations were usually friendly and occasionally thought-provoking, so, I maintained the relationship.

But over the course of years, I steadily wore down.

We had several bitter arguments about matters of little importance. And a couple of others in which I told him straight-out that I am a Christian and that I was not going to listen to his sordid sexual

Committed To Faith Alone – Sola Fide

From the moment that Adam and Eve began to make for themselves aprons of fig leaves, man has been in the business of creating a man-made salvation. In man’s arrogance and pride, he will not find faith in God sufficient for salvation. He simply does not value God’s work in Christ at Calvary. This is such a universal truth that all the religions of the world can be divided into two groups. The first group would be those that trust the work of God in Christ alone for the salvation of their souls. The second group would be those that depend for their salvation on the work of man, or those that mix faith in Christ with a work by man. Sadly, this division would not simply result in a distinction between Christianity and the non-Christian religions of the world. Many who claim the name of Christ would in reality need to be classed with the non-Christian religions. This is so because they require an element, or a work, in their plan of salvation for the co-operation of man, without which, they believe there can be no salvation. This element might be baptism, good works, church membership or engendering (creating) faith itself.

Devoted To Christ Alone

Christ is the center of the Christian faith. This is so because He is God in the flesh. This great truth is a product of a systematic study of all Scripture. It pleased God to reveal Himself to His creation in a progressive manner, that is, God revealed Himself to man in stages as He saw fit for His own purposes and man’s well being. The systematic study of God in His Word clearly demonstrates that God is One and that He is in three persons. As difficult as it is for us to grasp this great truth, we nevertheless find it clearly taught that God is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

“In the unity of the Godhead there are three persons, of one substance, power, and eternity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit: the Father is of none, neither begotten, not proceeding; the Son is eternally begotten of the Father; the Holy Spirit eternally proceeding from the Father and the Son.” The Westminster Confession of Faith, Chapter 2, Paragraph 3

It has pleased the Father to send the Son to do the work of redemption, and to send the Spirit to apply that work to His elect. In doing the work of redemption the Son fully fulfills the offices of prophet, priest, and king, which were seen as types in the Old Testament and thoroughly realized in the person of Jesus Christ in the New Testament. This mediatorial or intercessory office of Christ was summed up by the Westminster Confession of Faith in this way:

“It pleased God, in His eternal purpose, to choose and ordain the Lord Jesus, His only begotten Son, to be the Mediator between God and man, the Prophet, Priest, and King the Head and Savior of His Church, the Heir of all things, and Judge of the world: unto whom He did from all eternity give a people, to be His seed, and to be by Him in time redeemed, called, justified, sanctified, and glorified.” Chapter VIII, Paragraph 1

Prophet – A prophet is one who speaks for God. There were many prophets in the Old Testament of which Moses was the greatest. All these men spoke for God as types of the prophet that Moses said God would someday send, “The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your countrymen, you shall listen to him” (Deuteronomy 18:15). Christ speaks for the Father perfectly, therefore Christ is the anti-type or perfect fulfillment of the type of which Moses, and others typified.

Christ is the mediator of the New Covenant. Speaking for the Father, the great message of the Son was a message of peace and reconciliation. Man in his sin is at enmity with God. The prophetic message of Christ is that enmity with God is done away with in the work of Jesus Christ. Christ became the object of the Father’s justified wrath. The Son willingly became the substitute of His elect in bearing in His own body the penalty of their sin. So, Christ becomes both the object and subject of biblical prophecy. Christ spoke the prophetic word during His earthly ministry and fulfilled the saving role that all the prophets had anticipated. In Christ the Kingdom of God has come.

Christ continues as prophet today. In His word, He continues to speak forth words of peace and reconciliation.

Priest – The Old Testament Mosaic priesthood was after the order of Levi. However, a greater priesthood than this is found in the Scriptures before that of Levi. Abraham gave tithes to the priest Melchizedek and received blessings from him. Because Levi was yet in the loins of Abraham, in Jewish terms, Melchizedek was greater than Levi was. It was as a priest after the order of Melchizedek that Christ came to fulfill his office of High Priest.

Thou art a priest forever

According to the order of Melchizedek.

Hebrews 5:6

In His office of priest, Christ not only offered sacrifice for the sins of the people but He offered the perfect sacrifice of His own sinless life. The animal sacrifices had no intrinsic value in taking away sin but simply looked forward to the perfect sacrifice of Christ. Christ sacrifice has intrinsic value of unlimited worth. He the sinless and eternal Son of God was willing to offer himself for the sins of His elect. His sacrifice, being perfect, cannot be repeated. To repeat it would be to cast a shadow over its value and demean it sufficiency. The sacrificial system of the Old Testament has been done away with forever in Christ. It will never be reinstituted again.

King – Jesus Christ fulfills the office that David was simply a type of, that of King. The message of John the Baptist and Christ was “the kingdom of God has come.” Christ now reigns as King. He has ascended to the Father and sits at the Father’s right hand as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He will yet return and the fullness of His reign will be consummated at the end of the age.

“Death begins in the colon” is a phrase I kept hearing on my journey back to health. Well, if that is the case, is there anything we can do to “bring some life” back to the colon?

Yes, I believe we can create a healthier and “more alive” colon, as I personally experienced the health restoration that occurs when years of impacted waste is eliminated from the intestines. One tool to help clean out the colon is the old fashioned enema.

On my journey to overcome illness, I learned some very interesting information on how people of the past have administered plenty of health building enemas – flushing out the large intestine with water.

Even Hippocrates, born around the year 460 BC and referred to as the “father of medicine,” claimed that chronic disease came from autointoxication as a result of old fecal matter stuck in the intestines. This old waste, that many could never believe was there, can cause all kinds of negative physical problems and even emotional wellbeing problems.

The teachings of Hippocrates helped people zero in on the importance of a properly functioning colon. Yes, one thing a person could do to enhance the internal environment of the large intestine was to flush out the large intestine with water via the enema.

Flushing out the lower large intestine with water has brought about better health and increased wellbeing for a long time. Administering enemas is nothing new.

In fact, enemas have been working wonders for thousand of years. There is an Egyptian medical document called the Ebers Papyrus (paper like material made from the papyrus plant) from about 1550 BC. It is one of the two oldest preserved medical documents anywhere. It is among the most important medical papyri of ancient Egypt.

It is also commonly called Papyrus Ebers. The papyrus contains information on intestinal disease and parasites. Thirty-five paragraphs (paragraphs 50-85) concentrate on intestinal parasites.

The Ebers Papyrus was purchased at Luxor (Thebes) in the winter of 1873-1874 by Georg Ebers and is now in the library of the University of Leipzig in Germany. Thebes is an ancient Egyptian city. It is probably the richest and largest (just over two square miles) archaeological site in the world.

The Ebers Papyrus is written in hieratic Egyptian writing and preserves for us the most voluminous record of ancient Egyptian medicine known.

The other ancient medical document, The Edwin Smith Papyrus, is the world’s earliest known medical document. It is dated at about 1600 BC. Both of these ancient medical documents write about how cleansing the bowel is beneficial for better health.

Additionally, in The Essene Gospel of Peace, Book One, from the third century, there is a passage in that little spiritual book on the benefits of cleaning the colon that was pretty powerful to me. The benefits of cleaning out the impurities from the colon were clearly communicated.

Edmond Bordeaux Szekely, the author of The Essene Gospel of Peace, beautifully translates Jesus Christ’s teachings. The Essene’s write, which Szekely translated, about the angel of water. They say not only is it necessary to cleanse without, outside the body with water, but it is also necessary to cleanse within.

Szekely writes that if the insides of a person are unclean they can be full of horrible abominations. He writes about suffering the angel of water to baptize you also within.

“Seek, therefore, a large trailing gourd, having a stalk the length of a man; take out its inwards and fill it with water from the river which the sun has warmed. Hang it upon the branch of a tree, and kneel upon the ground before the angel of water, and suffer the end of the stalk of the trailing gourd to enter your hinder parts, that the water may flow through your bowels.”

The passage continues and states this water colon cleanse will free the body from disease and uncleanness’s.

Those words from that passage on colon cleansing coming from reportedly Jesus Christ made quite an impression on me.

If one is looking to improve their health, I would start learning more about the colon and what you can do to improve its functioning. For this cleaner colon environment has a direct effect on the health of one’s immune system. The colon’s internal ecosystem dramatically effects one’s physical and emotional health.

If I would have better understood and believed the benefits of cleaning out the colon years earlier, I could have saved much miserable time from being “trapped” inside a toxic and unhappy body. I could have also saved thousands of dollars that I had spent trying to figure out how to be well again.

Remember, for centuries colon cleansing with water was a routine health enhancing home remedy. Thousands of people have improved their health from removing old waste from their colon. Is it time to give this natural remedy a closer look?

If you decide to try an enema, please make sure to educate yourself thoroughly before attempting this. You can then proceed in a safe and proper fashion.
